sent messages

I can't read sent messages. When I click on 'Sent' in the left box, I can see my reply to a sent message but I have no way to scroll up to the message I sent. Any ideas?

Re: sent messages

@geoff1954  I've just been messing about with my messages and at first I couldn't scroll up either. Until I figured out it's been coded backwards...

Go to your Messages folder and click on the message you want to read - that will then show on the right hand side of the screen. Click anywhere on that message (if you don't you'll just end up scrolling up and down your list of messages on the left) and to scroll Up (to see previous messages in the chain) use the Down arrow on your keyboard. To scroll Down use the - go on, have a guess...

It's like putting your car into reverse when you want to go forwards, that is. Completely AAF. But it works.

Re: sent messages

The powers that be have thought it necessary to add sent messages to any inbox message from a member, so it becomes one long message !

To see your sent message click on the one from the member you are replying to,  scroll down and you'll find your reply.

Re: sent messages

It works! Thanks.   These Ebay 'improvements' always seem to make life harder.

Re: sent messages

Thanks. My problem was that once my sent message had been replied to I was unable to scroll up to see what I had sent. No scroll bar. But, as thesmokingrunner has said, the up and down keyboard arrows do work.

Re: sent messages

I'm on a laptop using Chrome and the scroll bar is there,  but very hard to find it's hidden on the right hand side of the messages and will work....  once found !

Not easy !

Re: sent messages

Hi tressygirl,

Yup - I've just found it on mine (laptop/Chrome too) and boy is it well hidden! You have to hover the cursor in precisely the right area to highlight the scroll bar - and if the cursor moves off the scroll bar it disappears.

And although I can move the scroll bar up and down manually using the cursor if I want to move line-by-line I still need to use the Up and Down arrows in reverse format though.

Re: sent messages

Drives you mad doesn't it!  Once you find the thin line of the scroll bar the darn thing disappears and you have to search for it again!  😣

I'm gonna use your tip I think @thesmokingrunner  the up and down arrows!

Re: sent messages

How can I check a message I've sent has been received?

I just sent a message to a Seller to thank them for an item. This is the first correspondence I've had with them. The message is stored in my Inbox, not in my Sent folder, so I don't know if they've actually received it.

The messages in my Sent folder seem to include messages I've received, and the messages in my Inbox seem to include messages I've sent. Confused!

Re: sent messages

It is confusing I agree,  but if you answer a message your reply, the ' sent' message attaches itself to the message received,  making it one long message.

Re: sent messages

Thanks @tressygirl

And the good news is I received a reply to my Sent message so it got there somehow.

This is a horrible setup !  😞

Old messaging system was 100x better than this poorly thought out change for the WORST !
