i noticed some others said as well they have issues with deliveries taking longer . i mainly use royal mail with some yodel and evri and i have had delays with all .
it feels unfair as my late delivery shot up to 2.54 % just by what has gone wrong in september with a few cases by buyers complaining they did not get their item compared to the usual 0.2 - 0.5 % of late deliveries. some examples from the last 2 weeks .
yodel
dropped off 4 parcels but issues with their scanner , i could leave them there and would be scanned when picked up = result ; left them on a sunday , no collection on monday . 4 late deliveries as they were only picked up tuesday due to this scan it shows up that i posted it late
yodel
parcel out for delivery in surrey , unable to deliver ... day later was in leeds . issue not resolved and buyer opened complaint as it is late
royal mail
posted out at the end of august , parcel took 20 days to be delivered ... i posted it out on the day of purchase but somehow still shows up that i posted it late ?
royal mail
3 buyers contacted me last week asking if there was an issue . looking at how long it took the 2 nd class parcels took 7 and 8 days to get delivered and another one today asking if their was an issue with its order .
evri
happened yesterday i had at least 10 parcels dropped off over the weekend , van showed up but claimed it was too much to take and did not collect any , they collected them this morning a day late but it counts as todays collection = thus being about 6 hours earlier meaning the parcels i dropped off before todays estimated collection time wait a day longer

All this together sounds horrific! I personally have had such repeatedly Kafka-esque delivery experiences with Yodel that I won't use them, let alone trust them with unscaned parcels. Yodel and EVRI have the same parent company, which makes me wary there too, but DHL recently purchased EVRI so maybe there is hope for the future. But you need help now, not later. May I make a recommendation for Royal Mail? I see you are using 2nd Class instead of Tracked 48. The price is almost the same, and you get so much more with T48 (including automatic £75 insurance).
Okay 2nd Class is scanned into the system upon dispatch with a free internal tracking number 'Reference Number', but you only have £20 automatic insurance. Also RM don't consider 2nd Class to be 'late' until 15-working days have passed. That is way too long for eBay! Also Postie is not always great about scanning on delivery. And to top it all off... my friends at the Post Office say that when things are busy - such as drivers on holiday, Christmas buying, et cetera - that 2nd Class is put aside until the backlog of Priority, Signed, Tracked, and 1st Class is cleared. So maybe it's worth a few more pence to upgrade your RM items to Tracked 48 instead?

We had the same problem with Royal Mail a few months ago which was apparently due to staff shortages at the RM distribution centre in Medway (parcels lied around unscanned for days). This is now resolved but it took 4 phone calls with Ebay customer service to explain what happened was beyond our control. Also, I agree with style-wise. RM Tracked 48 is still a better choice for at least for more valuable items. As for Evri and Yodel, they seem to be overwhelmed with the ever increasing number of parcels they handle.

In my experience RM standard 2nd class letter delivery is now 5-10 days average.

Slight correction to your post there. Evri is owned by Apollo Global Management, and Yodel is owned by InPost. So they have no relation at all. The reason I know about Evri is that my spouse used to work for the investment company that sold Evri to Apollo last year.
I believe some delays this week are due to the Yodel and InPost merger, which may have left some stores without collections that carried both brands. Give it time, and they'll work it out.

Guessing that was the reason for the rebrand from Hermes to EVRI
