We need more feedback from E bay on this as due to E bay deducting the VAT from the payment made to us we have had to stop using the Global shipping service. as a result of this we are now not able to ship to B to C buyers in the EU. As E bay are the shipper we are not able to sell net of VAT as we are delivering the goods to a UK address.

This sounds like a key issue. Have you raised it with eBay - either directly or during the Wednesday Chat with the eBay Team?

That doesn’t matter. Your VAT obligations are determined by the location of the buyer (i.e. the delivery address specified by the buyer) not the intermediary address that you are shipping to.

Thank you for your reply, your comments are not confirmed by HMRC, they have told me this is an indirect export therefore we are not able to zero rate the product. They go on to say that e bay should pay us the full amount including the VAT and reclaim it from our invoice and then E bay should zero rate as they are exporting the product. E bay are also providing a sales invoice which shows they are the exporter.

I have raised it with E bay but not with the online team
