UK economy shrinks for second month in a row

Ive thought about this; over the last few month i must have spent hours / days messing around with GPSR and reporting private " business " sellers who are undercutting real business sellers rather than using my time to  list ... wonder if these issues have impacted the econony when scaled up ? Has certainly impacted my bottom line.

Re: UK economy shrinks for second month in a row

The economy shrinks headlines I've seen, say 0.1% over the month - when I get side tracked by things that feel unjust, my turnover figures drop by far larger amounts 20% plus then my internal alarm bells start to ring.

I've had to step back from posting on some threads and digging deeper into various frustrating issues this year.  GPSR has been an enormous load - its the moral side of switching of NI that I just couldn't cope with.

I still find debating issues fascinating, so I restrict myself to controlled time periods - when I've done my am customer service, packed orders and listed say five items, I can indulge exploring bigger picture issues and chatting on the forums for a fixed time period. Before pushing on.

My mantra for the last two months of peak has been focus on what is in my control and driving revenue.  As we move into 2025 I need to do some more big picture for the year strategic planning but also need to have new time management rules to ensure that I don't slip back into activities beyond my control that are massive time syncs.

I'm open to any and all time management strategies if anyone has any suggestions

I set rules in my head - for example, 'You can't open that email from a friend until you've written up the stock book for last week'.  It's like 'You can't have pudding until you've eaten your greens'.

Or maybe I'm just going potty, making up annoying parent rules in my head.  Online selling does that to you.

However, tonight I've written up the stock book for the fibre and the ribbon.  Yeah!  Now I can read the boards and watch YouTube vids.

@the-nutwood-collection that makes perfect sense to me.  I'm a complete mother hen, I should apply that to myself.

I've read (and listened on audible) to lots of business books this year.  I think it was Playing Big, where the author talks about inner critic and splitting your inner voice into a mentor and critic then naming them.  It's sort of along the same lines. I have Yoda the inner wisdom we all possess but forget/make excuses from embracing and an inner b*tch (the person I would defend any friend or even vague acquaintance against for their unjust criticism.)
