Half way through putting together another product video to put on
my you-tube channel.
So thought I would share another tip.
How to beat the trolls.
As with any social media you will get trolls (keyboard warriors) that have nothing
better to do than annoy the hell out of you, basically spamming your channel
comment section with the usual drivel.
Ways to combat.
You can always leave the comments up and let everyone see what a complete tool they are.
Or
Block them. Yes you can do this on you-tube.
But what I do is have it set up, so all comments are approved by me before going live.
Not practical if you have 1 million subs and get 100s of comments per day.
But in my case, this is not an issue.
So what comments do I remove.
Yes continuous tedious troll comments.
Ones that mention rival sellers websites.
Comments that have nothing to do with the subject.
The ones that are just rude and often over with 18s language.
Personal attacks on me.
Comments that are not approved gives the person at the other end no
indication I have done so. In other words they continue to post and have
no idea their post is not going live.
But its good not to get carried away.
Watchers will disagree with what you say on the video, and make many
corrections. As long as not said in a rude way, I approve these.
You-tube loves creator / watcher engagement , and this will help with
your rankings.
Also if people find issues with my videos, I learn from it and it helps me
improve my content.
Anyway, best get back to editing my latest video.
In case you are wondering and it gives you an idea. This one will be almost
like a blog post. I am passing on what a customer said about my products
at my most recent open day.
Will keep reminding you, it costs nothing but time to start promoting
on YT. External mics and editing software can come later.
