Had a message today from a buyer asking for help/refund for a parcel due. They had received this text from 'Evri'. It's an old scam but hopefully, may help someone by raising awareness again.
The parcel arrived as planned a few hours later without any issues.
'EVRI mail package in the process of transportation, due to damage to the outer package, address information is lost, can not be delivered. Please be sure to update the delivery address information in the link within 12 hours. (inserted fake website) . (Please reply Y, then exit the SMS, re-open the SMS activation link, or copy the link to open in Safari)
The EVRI team wishes you a great day!'

You will be fine if you gave them those details as they are no different to me being a business seller showing all of those details on my listings ( by law). I do get a lot of spam e mails/calls though so be aware of these. If you have any e mails which threaten to close accounts/ask for money/save you a fortune, first thing to do is to look at the senders e mail as it is usually obvious it is a made up one which doesn't make any reference to the 'company' they are supposed to represent. Second, if it's asking for money/change password, call the company direct if you have an account with them and check.
With spam calls from 'phone companies' etc, just say no, hang up and block the number.
As for a virus, you could change your passwords or just make regular checks on any apps/accounts and make sure there is nothing suspicious. Also worth looking at installing an anti virus program. Lots are free for personal use.

Thanks yeah I was panicking for a while but I'm just going to monitor everything and be more careful now. It's just that I was expecting a parcel from evri so they caught me off guard.

See my reply No 28 on the thread.
You'll be fine as long as you haven't entered any bank/personal details.

I just received 8 SMS like that under 10 seconds from 8 different phone numbers, they're really really eager to give me a parcel I never ordered in the first place, then they gave me the Google maps location of the centre holding my package...
In Philadelphia, USA, right on the other side of the planet 😏👌

Recieved same text today and asking for a payment. Thought it sounded wrong. Didn't do it anyway, but that scam is doing the rounds
