Anyone else noticed this, is it a recent change? or have I missed the announcement?
Looking at a glance, this makes my item look like its £2.90 with £7.00 postage as the free deliver can easily be missed while scrolling.
In this items case it is the RM Special Delivery cost. Says 2 Days, due to same day dispatch but only before 9am, which makes it look like 2 days.
I am removing SD now

It may be due to eBay's new "Simple delivery". Details here:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/postage/simple-delivery?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=0&mkcid=8&bu=43952...
If so you can opt out of it during the listing process or revise current listing. Look for the postage options menu icon on the right of the postage section.

No its free delivery with expedited or special at £7
That's what i see,
2 days i agree is a joke even Royal mail say expected is 3-5 days on 2nd class NOT 2 Days like ebay say.
Plus working days not weekend like ebay seem to include.
I have similar issue item sold Friday eBay say delivery Saturday or Monday, Not according to royal mail delivery day will be Tuesday to Thursday.
Ebay estimates are at best over optimistic.
But nothing to do with SD. Price maybe speed NO.

I am a business seller. It was Special Delivery in my Postage Policy.
When you read it, it makes sense and is understandable, but if you scrolling with the competition at or around the same price and as there is no uniformity some say best offer, some say free postage, others offer a postage price. When I see a price at the bottom, my first thought is that is the postage price. Hence the *bleep* is this post.
Either way I personally dont like it.
Removed SD from my postage policy, was wondering if it was necessary anyway considering most of my items are not urgent. Only really had it because I wasnt sure if TRS needed it. I will see in a few days if it says 0 items qualify.

Same as you @stormatic2015 I removed next day service.
Its not a good look for lower value inventory showing £7 in our case £11.50 delivery charge when our competitors don't, despite it being free delivery, so we removed the expedited service.
The platform wants sellers to offer a next day option, weve always offered a guaranteed next day option but the tinkering in my opinion just makes the seller look bad. Free delivery but with a very costly next day service, imo doesnt equate to a click/view or a purchase,
Show it as an option, show sellers offer the service. Lower value inventory is often price led, dont show potential prices, 99% of the time the buyer wont choose it, thats from experience.
The platform can experiment with other inventory, not mine
Yes, us sellers, platform users know whats happening but to unfamiliar/new customers its confusing.

Will also add, with the EDD fiasco, it could really make sellers look bad

I saw this too but was really pleased at the potential - although I get for lower value inventory it may cause a bit of hesitation for buyers whilst the exact presentation is sorted to not cause confusion.
The lack of ability to be able to sort items that can be delivered quickly on eBay has been a long bugbear. I, like so many others here who jump through the hoops for Top Rated Seller/ premium service, want customers to be able to easily see that.
For jewellery, as items are often gifts and time dependant, being able to show that it can be delivered really quickly is great. Hopefully it'll mean that the Christmas cut off wont have to be a week before Christmas when I can send special delivery and still get it to someone in time.
Regarding price people will pay, because of the Canada post strikes I took up DHL international Express option to set up an account - only requires six international deliveries a year. I put the price on as £15-£20 an item for 1-4days worldwide shipment. I'm shocked by how many people pay it. Average basket size for adding this, rather than 7 business days included post, has been £75.

I looked at Ebay labels last night it said buyer chooses RM 85p for each of 2 items but i combine and refunded postage as used large letter for the 2 items. RM collection was only on 750g large letter anyway and that was tracked. So i did what i always do bought online from RM direct. SD will be impossible to use for most of us. Even the tracked small parcel they said the address was too long and there was no problem putting the address into the RM site. I will opt out on 10th when it is added but it will have to be done every single listing. Are they going to put it on all previous listings? In one place it says yes and in another no. I will close down again so i can check

Do you have a link where it states Simple Delivery becomes active on the 10th? There is nothing in announcements, and no emails received advising it starts on the 10th except for a price change on that date.
I would imagine they will give plenty of notice before it becomes active and how it works instead of a load of hearsay from people who haven't used it yet.
From what I have been told a few days ago the seller will be able to select the carrier between RM and Evri, no one is forced to use a service they don't wish to, because sellers have their preferred carrier.
It will also be an option for business sellers at some point who also want the protection, this will be opt in and the sellers choice if they wish to use it.
I have booked a collection for tomorrow on a small parcel, I'm not sure why you can't see it your account.

I brought this up in November
but it only shows the SD price when searching by category then filtering by type etc.
I think I may switch SD off too, only had one buyer use it in the last year.

I agree, the way it is displayed makes the seller look like a bit of scammer. I was looking for a new phone case and saw some of these listings and did not click on any of them as they looked like a swizz. Since when did RM Tracked 24 cost that?! The buyer when scrolling does not see what the postage service is, just what looks like an extortionate price for the postage.

Hadnt thought of that
There used to be 99p and £14.99 postage sellers that were just using 99p low price for best search results, it does look similar, and confusing with free postage
