Is there a way to stop feedback happening?
Item is dispatched, received & return requested. Not bothered about the transactional defect, it'll have no impact on the account. Don't care about the money loss but would kinda like the item back.
I'm TRS & it's a TRS+ item. Freepost & Free Returns (I pay). My returns policy is Free Returns for ANY reason. INAD and 17 messages in the last 18 hours. Other than offering the buyer my last breath, what should I do to not get a negative... A negative is just part of doing business but this one is going to be wild.
Could I mark as unsent & cancel the order? Once the return courier has the item?
Didn't TRS once upon a time allow negatives to be removed if they offered Free Returns, does that that still exist?

You can't really do anything to stop someone leaving a neg once an order is in play.
But if you get a neg, then it may well be possible to get it removed, depending on exactly what is written.
Just wait and see, that's about all you can do for now.
Don't get involved in an argument etc with the customer. Give your answer and leave it at that.
I know what you mean though. I got one yesterday that is clearly a product review. And absolutely nothing that I can do about it. Just block and move on after a nice request to remove it.
But if you look at the history of the feedback left by the customer concerned, you will get a reasonable idea as to what to expect.

You don't really explain why you think you are going to get a negative? I'm guessing the buyer doesn't want to bother to return.
If you are TRS - when you refund, report and block the buyer (for either unfair INAD or the 17 messages?) and I think that might stop the neg (if I partial refund as a TRS it definitely blocks the negs).
If it doesn't - and the neg is 'wild' that could work in your favour. Very politely respond to the fb. You are 100% fb seller, if the buyer looks like an idiot, new buyers wont worry. Or, you could ring CS and if the 17 messages show odd behaviour, you may be able to get the fb removed as a good will gesture..
I have had negs in the past. I don't worry too much.

Unfortunately, there isn't a lot you can do other than respond to the feedback if it does come. Sometimes eBay will remove the feedback if it's clear it was malicious. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.
