Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

I was checking my listings yesterday and noticed all of the listings I had added over the last 24 - 48 hours have had the postage prices / delivery options changed (not by me but by Ebay).

How do I eradicate this ? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

I think your going to need to expand a little on this.

What exactly do you mean by changed?

Prices, delivery service, something else?

The latest one I can see is a Richard Blowey oil painting, which has tracked delivery for £4.26

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

I listed that painting with postage via Royal Mail Special Delivery at £9.95 and if I go to edit the listing that is what is still showing however in searches it is coming up at the figure you quoted.

I'm unable to expand on it as I don't know what has happened, I presume it is to do with simple delivery however A) I am a business seller so it should not apply and B) I don't want to use it.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

Yes, it looks like SD.   It's giving alternative postage prices.     If you click on revise and then click on "Switch to advanced options" at the bottom of the postage section, and again on the pop-up you'll get.   That will remove SD and you can put the postage you want.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

Hi, thank you for your advice, I am no longer able to do that, the advanced options section is not there.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

Is there any way I can remove simple delivery from my listings as a whole,  I don't want to use it and have never opted into using it.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

No, we have to opt out of each listing.  eBay are not going to make it easy for us to get rid of it.    I'm still getting the switch link.   Have you tried a different browser?    Or contact ebay about it.   A business seller shouldn't be on SD anyway.   You can use callback on here:

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

If you dig a little deeper into it, you can see that you actually have two options for delivery.

RM Tracked for £4.26

And SD for £4.86

Tried adding to my basket to see what happens and it's basically the same.

You just get those two options.

If it is indeed Simple Delivery causing the issue, then no doubt a change has been made in the background.

Your only real option, is to contact support I think.

Hi @british-ceramics-and-paintings ,

Can you trying clearing your cache and cookies and revising the listing to see if it allows you to choose your own postage option?

Thank you,

Kat

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

I am able to change the postage however the searches are showing something completely different. I can edit the listing to special delivery at £9.95 however it doesn't translate into the live listing.

Thank you @british-ceramics-and-paintings

I have one of your listings examples. Can you give me other listing examples and I will log it with tech to get it checked.

Thank you,

Kat

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

I requested a call back from ebay, took over 25 minutes when 6 months ago it would have been within 1 - 2 minutes.

I spoke to someone and gave him the details, he put me on hold for 8 minutes, nothing more was said and then he put the phone down.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

Somebody on another thread  suggested a work around

it seems to work if you want to try revising

click collection only then click back to postage only and the custom options appear

Make sure you check the info in all the places is correct as the system is v glitchy at the moment  (ie when I changed the delivery method the amount to pay by buyer didnt change but you can manually amend it)

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

Funnily enough, the last time I contacted them, it took a few minutes, no more than that.
Which was only last week and got through to someone in Ireland.

Perhaps you were just unlucky and hit at a very busy time.

I've not yet had the phone put down on me, though that happened quite a few times when I was on Amazon.

Maybe I've just been lucky, as it's nearly always the Irish call centre that I get.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

Hi, thank you for your help, I have tried this on one listing and it has worked.

There is clearly a glitch though and I imagine it will have impacted many other sellers.

Re: Simple delivery being forced onto business sellers

Hi, just to confirm the workaround mentioned in post 14 on this topic does work so I may do this for each listing, i.e. I may fix the listings myself prior to the tech team doing anything however there is clearly a glitch.

Just thought I should mention this.

Thanks @british-ceramics-and-paintings  I had noted that and included it with the tech report as well.

Thank you,
