Should I ditch Private Listings?

Sales and profitability couldn't be worse so could I harm sales by allowing people to view bidders? I know people don't like to feel they are being "followed" by other members but I now could not care less.

Given that buyer IDs are scrambled to anyone but the seller it makes no difference whether other buyers can see them or not.

I have always felt private listings feel a bit off somehow.

Re: Should I ditch Private Listings?

It used to be that other members could see the usernames of bidders but not their real names, not ever. I've used Private Listings for so long, I'm not aware of what bidders can see. If the only bidder on an item at 99p isn't happy with the idea that someone might see their bid and then bid the Ming vase up to £2, hell mend them (that's a highly theoretical example by the way). I sell most items to a solitary bidder and lose, lose, lose every month so it no longer matters if I lose these solitary bidders. EBay is a former marketplace as far as I am concerned.

Re: Should I ditch Private Listings?

There seem to be more Watchers since I edited my unbid-on listings to be not Private. Fingers crossed.
