I have some large coffee table art books that I need to ship, a US buyer is interested in buying the lot which means that the package will be bulky and heavy. Can anyone give me some advice on best company to use to ship these? I was going to use UPS.

I have used Royal Mail with parcels up to 20Kg to the US and never had an issue. Not the cheapest but they have always got there quickly. I sent 4 together, all just under 20kg last year to a customer in Tennessee and they all arrived together. You will need to ship in the next few days as the new tariffs and 'de minimis' rules come in on the 29th for arriving goods at the border.
I love the tag 'Cross Boarder Trade'. 😂 I guess that is what happens when developers are totally reliant on spell check.

UPS is very reliable in the States. Mentioning this because Overseas post is only as good as the carrier in your Buyer's country.
Following on from @ett1954 it is currently only £32.35 for an individual to send Royal Mail International Tracked 20kg (includes automatic compensation of £50 which you can to-up to £250 for another £2.50). BTW sending multiple boxes is often cheaper than one overweight box bumped up to Post Office's ParcelForce.
Or there is also RM International Economy for £20.25 for 20kg but only £20 automatic compensation. This can take up to 6-weeks if your Buyer is willing to wait for an untracked service. I have sent many parcels like this, and found both RM and USPS to be very reliable.

Thank you both, that's great stuff.

I've always found UPS excellent, although I have only shipped paintings, nothing larger than that. You can pay a small fee which ensures the item is signed for by the recipient, which i've always done. It's incredibly quick, and the paperwork is easy.

That 'Cross Boarder' tag has been bugging me for ages! I thought I was just being pedantic so I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed the spelling mistake 🙂

Try the parcel2go website for a quote from various couriers. I've always found that Parcelforce and FedEx are good for heavy items.
