Seller level downgrade due to decline in buyers on here

Downgraded shop level to basic shop as anything more was not justified for the price charge

Tried promotions, nothing came of this other than high payments going to ebay

Send offers out, nothing back from them

Checked and improved keywords in titles, descriptions, changed wording layouts and this make no difference.

When listing and ebay suggests prices, this is completely inaccurate as it suggests some prices for items less than scrap!

Now seller level performance is being downgraded due to lack of sales.

Like many on here / all the posts ive read on ebays own forum, sales seem to have just dropped / stopped and now ebay are penalising sellers level due to no fault of their own.

Responsibility of decline in users, sales, traffic on here is not all sellers fault! Yet ebay find it acceptable to put the blame on users.

kat@ebay I have raised many points and issues over the last few months in weekly chats and individual posts on here, nothing is being actioned on with the feedback that you and the team send back to them.  As if it was being looked into and actioned then users would be noticing improvements on here.

We don't have endless amounts of cash to feed ebay with paying for promotions which have been prooved to not be affective in getting more sales, having to pay to promote items as a business seller already paying fees is not the answer!

I have spoken to customer service, management and 1:1 team who just suggested all the things i already tried.

What more can sellers do?

If you have ability to escalate issues within ebay management team then this needs to be done not just for me but for every other business seller on here that are having the same issues with lack of sales and sudden drop in sales since introduction of Buyers protection fee and changing of app.

Ebay constantly sending promotional offers of 50% discount on promoting is not the answer nor is the offer to purchase ebay branded packaging.

Seller level downgrade due to decline in buyers on here

Thank you Kat, I know the feedback will be forwarded to the relevant departments within ebay.

I just think over the past 2 to 3 months with so many experiencing the same problems as I've mentioned and they have also raised it on many posts on this forum yet there is a complete lack of acceptance of any problem or resolution coming from the management of ebay.

Business sellers have been majorly affected but changes and the ongoing glitches on the platform it has cost us time and loss of sales.

I've just briefly glanced over your items listed here on ebay. You seriously need to talk with someone who is not you, yet whose opinion you can trust & respect. From just a brief glance I can see that you are doing everything right, you have very good photo's & you have very good descriptions for your items. So why isn't it flying out the door? You need to understand your 'demographics', just who exactly is your customer & I personally would find it hard to believe that the demographic of your customer is browsing ebay for their next jewellery purchase at this price point.

Tat sells well here & most of your stuff is far from tat. Jewellery sell's well here on ebay but I feel it is driven either by 'tat' or it is dealers with a canny eye looking for the underpriced items being sold by the unwary.

I almost instantly formed the opinion that you know your trade, I cannot understand why you think that ebay is a place where you should set out your stall & then moan & whinge when your stuff doesn't fly out the door

Seller level downgrade due to decline in buyers on here

Thanks for your reply and opinion.

I do disagree in your view that I should not be selling on here due to the price point I have set on my items.

People do browse ebay for pieces of jewellery from low priced to high price.  They also browse ebay as with many traders there are opportunities for unusual and unique pieces.

The business forum has many posts by other sellers who are experiencing decline or sudden stop in sales.  These sellers have a variety of items from low to high priced items too,  it all falls inline when selling fees were dropped for private sellers,  buyer protection fee introduced when buying from private sellers,  multiple glitches with platform and app, manipulated search results and traffic stats.

Moaning and whinging hardly, these issues are being experienced by many other business sellers

@auctiongabble

Well, you're exactly the sort of seller that Jamie Ianonnone-thingy would like  to have on ebay.

He doesn't want 'tat' sellers; he wants high end and luxury goods on ebay.

(ebay are currently trying hard to divest themselves of private sellers of cheap tat by dint of the BPF, payment holds and Simple (HA!) Delivery.........)

Unfortunately he's really got his work cut out to convince the buying public that ebay is the place for such nice stuff.

Lots of people think of ebay in the same bracket as charity shops and the tip 😮 (according to 'you and yours' this week...) and others, buyers *and* sellers, are way too wary of expensive goods on ebay being scam-magnets one way or the other....🙁
