I received a message from two customers (1 in Sweden and 1 in Denmark) a couple of days ago, saying that PostNord are asking for a VAT payment on item we sent via eBay. Usually eBay collect the VAT themselves (in advance) via their IOSS number, IM2760000742. This information is usually passed in an electronic form to Royal Mail Click and Drop via the marketplace integration.
After calling eBay (useless as usual), then OBA customer services, I checked the customers order details myself on the lick and drop platform. I then cloned the order and noticed that that eBay IOSS number was not filled in, I called Royal Mail click and drop and said they were aware of this issue, they said they were not sure if its their system or an issue with the marketplace, they did say it was effecting eBay as well as Amazon sellers (so I am assuming Royal Mail issue). All EU postage labels that I have posted in the last 2 weeks do not have IOSS data which is why PostNord is trying to charge customers (again)
They said you can enter the IOSS code manually on any order to the EU and should provide a black circle on the postage label indicating an IOSS service has been used.
This leaves us as the sellers in bad situation, do we tell customers to pay the fee (now being paid twice, plus admin charges), are eBay, royal mail or are we going to foot the bill for this error?

PS In the meantime enter IOSS Code manually for any EU orders.
