Interesting that you posted your 'funny' post on the business seller board when you have a private account.

Isn't it amazing the sheer number of brand new shoelace kits they have left in their loft.....

But buyer can make payment using Paypal through eBay payment system. What seems to be the problem. I always see a option on there where you can select paypal, it's intergrated within eBay's payment system. Possibly the buyer doen't want to pay for the purchase beacause either they purchased by mistake or changed their mind and don't want to buy anymore. It's annoying sometimes as now you will need to list the item. Thanks.

A private seller with 6.2k items sold !!
They must have a huge attic chock full of 'old stuff' to sell, shoelaces mainly.
With HMRC now trawling eBay it looks like they could be getting a knock on the door at some point, questioning all these six thousand plus so-called Private sales and asking to see some paperwork.

Just because an account is not a business account on Ebay, does not necessarily mean that it's not paying the correct taxes.
And I'm quite sure that the bigger ones will be complying with those rules.
In the main, the problem is not anything to do with HMRC, though that probably will give some problems to some, but it's about using the wrong account on Ebay.

Indeed, I have posted before about how we can have no idea from the public face of an account what they are doing with their taxes, but we can tell that consumer laws are being broken.
Too often these threads become about tax when they should be about the clear and obvious laws that are being broken.
