I received a message from eBay a couple of days ago informing me of the state of my listings regarding the Premium Service badge, see below:
I already offer FREE delivery on all my listings using RM Tracked 48 and I also offer an express service using RM Special Delivery Next Day for £9.95 which I assumed fitted the required criteria for Premium Service.
But when I check my listings it shows RM Special Delivery as a 2-3 day service therefore excluding my listings from the Premium Service. Now this is obviously incorrect as we all know that RM SD is a next day service. I tried creating a new Postage policy but had the same results so I amended it to DPD next Day which is listed as a one day service, see below:
So how am I supposed to create a postage policy the fits Ebay's criteria as all the services they offer are outside of their required requirements for Premium Service?

Need to change your handling to same day, do the cut off as 5am or something and then give it 24 hours and if thats the only reason its not showing then it will sort itself out. Same thing happened to me a while ago and they didnt mention it takes upto 24 hours for the listings to get he badge.

What is your handling time?

"To earn the eBay Premium Service badge on your listings, you’ll need to meet a few key criteria. Here is what you’ll need to provide to your buyers and how to qualify.

It's two days

Yes, thank you. I know all that.

I believe the handling time needs to be no more than 1 day in order for delivery to be possible within the required 2/3 days.

Hi, I tried changing that to Same Day and it made no difference to my listings, still showing DPD 1 Day Delivery as two to three days.

Thanks, I'll give it a try and see what happens.

Yeah that's likely the reason. Same day dispatch required.
Just checked a random listing and noticed it has this:

I can not believe people actually bother with all this nonsense.
I don't offer free postage quite simply because it isn't free, I have also been a Top Rated Seller since it was introduced and have never lost it even for a month. I have never strived for a badge from eBay nor will I ever.
I give nothing more to eBay than I have to and totally refuse to play their games, especially as they used to give us up to 40% in discounts off your fees. The more you sold, the bigger the discount, but that went south years ago when their hedge fund managers got all corporate and greedy.

OK, hope you feel better for getting your rant about Ebay out there, btw, didn't help me in the slightest but thanks anyway for your contribution.

Seriously, everyone knows that it isn't actually free. But people perceive it as better value. It doesn't have to make sense.
But what it does equate to, at least for the seller, is an extra 10% discount on fees and supposedly, better ranking.
So why exactly is that not worth it?
Don't play their games, but it's you that is losing out and not Ebay.
