No advertising NO sales is Ebay POLICY now !

Sales are less than half compared to last year

Ebay wants us to pay for advertising, when we are already paying shop fees, final value fees , and transaction fees ! If yoy don't promote theres no sales

Also they are bieng very cheeky and don't show the organic version of the itmes, only the sponsered one!

I am also thinking of downgrading my listings, and shop and sell just minimal itmes which actually can make money, rest it seems I am working for ebay and Royal Mail.

Ebay is now a dead platform for us. So we just focus on Amazon now.

Your correct as the search is broken so shows totally irrelevant results.

Can I ask what other platforms you use. I have been selling on ebay for 14 years and in the old days turned over 3.5k-5k regularly, now I struggle to turnover 1k with double the costs! We need more platforms.

There are some fairly obvious ones for clothing.

We are not supposed to post them on the forum.

If your selling new clothing, then there are quite a lot of different platforms available.

Just do a search, all well known.

Thanks, I am on two others. To be honest I am thinking of giving it all up.
The sales get fewer each year, you need to sell cheaper to get the sales
and the costs go up. I could earn a living before but now it is impossible
:(.

Thanks again.

Maybe you need to think about diversifying your range then?

Clothing has become rather crowded now.

Far to many selling too cheaply, just to get a couple of quid in.

So it's very much become a numbers game.

You have to add the promoted listing cost onto the price of the item, ultimately the consumer pays for this as it drives prices up on eBay. Promoted listings was a desparate short term money grab for shareholders without considering the long term effect it would have. Customers are shopping elsewhere now because eBay is no longer a good place for finding deals. If you aren't doing so already I would recommend investing in your own website.

Literally in your case I used you once on here and then every other time on your own site 😉

So I guess it is always worth keeping some sort of presence here but as you say also investing in your own site.

That said it always amazes me (this is a posting / purchasing account) how I cough-cough that you might want to do a quick google & buy direct from me to save a cool 20% (on an item listed at £500 here) and how many just don't "get it".

exactly what happened with me. I have left eBay and looking for alternatives. As you mentioned we are wasting our time by working for eBay and Royal Mail and get nothing. After a long time working on eBay it seems that its time to say goodbye eBay  as a seller. No advertisement fees no sales (its eBay Policy) pay and play.
