Since the No sales board was abruptly terminated, after 88 pages of contributions, I've tried setting it up again here

Quite agree, why dismiss that sellers are struggling, no explanation to drop in sales that is affecting so many surely this must also affect ebay and their profits?

I thought differences had been sorted out, but hey-ho and just when you were making some interesting points about cassini too.

No way to contact all the followers too.
Did I touch a nerve with my reverse engineering of Cassini? Did 'they' have to quickly end the conversation, lol. Better get the tin foil hat out again.

I've emailed the moderator and asked for the old thread to be unlocked. Let's see what happens.

Something else about cassini so i've noticed and i'll give an example based on one my products but i've noticed this issue on all my accounts.
So one of my products which sells alot just over 80000 in sales history on the listing and this ranks organically at the bottom of page 1 now this has a video uploaded to it we used the maximum ammount of pictures which can be used correct keywords for title alot of keywords in description and all the specifics filled out but yet this ranks at the bottom of page 1.
BUT you have other sellers who are selling the same product and have sold far less and have alot of negative reviews on that particular product they are ranking higher oranicaly with a price difference of £0.10p and this does not make any sense to me.
i mean someone correct me if i'm wrong here you would of thought that cassini or what ever you want to call it would naturally/organically rank my product higher but no and thats another reason why i've ventured over to other platforms.

Sounds a bit like the blue "Geat Price" badge that gets applied to identical products which are much higher and sellers with dreadful feedback scores. Perhaps there is a random number thrown into the algo to keep things churning and avoid people figuring out how to game the system.
As far as video goes, I heard a trick is to simply do a slide show of the still images. I might be giving that a try in the coming weeks.

Is it possible to do a bulk edit to put a video to a number of listings at once?
05-07-2024 9:39 AM
We are 30% down on last year and you most definitely have to sell on other platforms now as ebay is collapsing. Been selling on here for 22 years and you can see how quickly sales are plummeting

It sounds over the top however I agree sales are collapsing in the categories we sell in, many business sellers have given up on Ebay and much of the quality desirable inventory is no longer listed on the platform.
The demise is mainly down to they way Ebay has managed the platform, of course there are influences beyond Ebay's control however they have played the biggest part in the downturn.
The last 2 - 3 years have been like watching a car crash in slow motion, unfortunately us and many others have been involved in it.

Can't see an option on the bulk edit to list video or pics across multiple listings at once.
A variable spanner I have listed has had no views from day 1 over a few weeks now, so I am testing uploading a video of the still images with some text to see if it suddenly generates views. Pretty basic using a freebie editor called shotcut, very easy to create slide show and add text. The link to the listing is here, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/326166430893
Don't know how long verification takes before the video is live. If you look at it later today, let me know so I can discount the view counter, and give me feedback.

What are your other platforms?

Can only comment on my own situation regards where the customers are hiding.
They are hiding on my website.
So far my descision to close my eBay shop and keep just a few listings going to concentrate
on the website , you-tube and public open days is paying off. Google PPC has surprised me with the
amount of extra sales.
So regardless of what some may say about holidays, ecomomy , not pay day etc, there are
buyers out there. But they will only buy from where they can actually find what they are looking for.
(any one in eBay towers reading that last bit ?)

MKII video uploaded to the spanners. The static mage was a bit toooo static so I added a moving colour thingy in the top left corner to tryand give some motion. Not sure if it is a yuck or buck.

Came across this by accident
https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/listings/creating-managing-listings/add-video-to-listing?id=5272
will tell you how to upload one video to multiple listings
One of my works of art, neigh - masterpieces, was rejected as too long and this page was the link to explain why (not)
05-07-2024 2:28 PM
The desktop page says 1 view for the spanner, the smartphone app says 3. Well that's useful! Are those views from people here or has the video resulted in views thanks to better placing by Cassini?
05-07-2024 3:58 PM
Well done !!
But I think it'll have a bit more competion than the original mk1 had when it started.
Don't think there's a month goes by that doesn't have its very own "What's happened to sales in Jan. / Feb. / March/April / May / June / etc.

I think buyers have more choice now. If all your eggs are in ebays, basket it's a mistake. Look at Trustplots rating for ebay, it's dreadful. Granted people who are happy probably won't make the same effort to leave a review but still. I'm really not having a whine about ebay. I'm just suggesting they aren't the be all and end all. All the best.

Refreshing some listings this evening and have discovered ebay has switched on immediate payment without reference to me. I've no idea when this was done. I really do object to ebay meddling with my settings.

Well .... the video experiment with the spanner listing seems to have some results. After nearly a month of no views, there are 6 in a couple of days with one watcher. Nobody here has dropped me a note saying they were one of the views checking out the video, so I have to concluded that adding even a simple video has resulted in some sort of boost. All it is, is a simple slide show of the stills with a few words pointing out features. Using some free software it was quite simple to do. I have another new listing which was to test market another item, same very poor results. I'll give that a go to.
I also conclude trying to break into competative products is extremely difficult as existing sellers do seem to have priority. Whilst the number of views has been changed to show a rolling 30 day number, the length of time a product has been active also seems to be counted. However, it has always seemed to be the case that it can take months to 'establish' a product whilst others come and go.
