New messaging service- lacking functions, making CS difficult.

The new messaging service is increasing workload- primarily when a customer enquires about an order there is no link to the order like there was on the older messaging.  So to look at the order you have to copy and paste the customer's user name into the orders search bar, which takes time....  Pretty annoying when you're getting a load of messages from customers.

Is there any chance that the order number (and embedded link) could be added to the messaging?  Alternatively could the person/ persons at eBay responsible for sponsoring this thoughtless backward step be made to copy/ paste 10000 user names into the order search bar as penance.

There is another really annoying feature of the new messaging system, where do your sent messages go? I have  written to customers as a new conversation,  but the message does not appear in the sent box, so you sit there thinking am I going mad and have I actually written to customer XYZ to deal with enquiry etc.

I brought this up on the weekly chat a couple of weeks ago. Of course it's been 'passed to the team' which basically means nothing.

It looks to me like ebay has switched to a thread format so messages appear in order and in one place rather like an email or text conversation.

I've had problems talking to a bidder about an unfinished listing. I clicked to contact them and was given 2 options - make contact about something that isn't a listing or make contact about a listing. I went for option 2 which requested the listing number, went back got that and tried again and was taken into the new messaging page with nowhere else to go. No message box opened up to the bidder. In the end I had to go for option 1 which worried me as ebay might've thought I was up to something I shouldn't be.

It's not an impressive change.

Its really not impressive, the old one worked fine, looked a little dated but nothing more wrong with it. Re the OP's @tabletop-hobbies I think you can click to the order, by the very top line of the message here under the users name, it takes you back to the listing itself where you can view order details etc. Cumbersome but a possible work around for you?
