I gave negative feedback to a seller for what he/she claimed i have not checked the parts comparrison chart !! I had done a comparrison check and the photo on the listing was what i wanted . I recieved a item that was poor quality and was not the item i ordered . They said i was in the wrong and would have to pay postage . lol.... My issue is how has my feedback dissapeared and if they have managed to get Ebay to remove it and have done this for other neg feedback how does that give a true representation of a company selling **bleep** !! how does that protect buyers or should i say how does it help a buyer to make up their mind whether to buy from them . If ebay has removed it then they should be giving the buyer the oppertunity to have it reinstated for good reason otherwise ebay are covering up bad sales practices.

"Ebay feed back is now as useful as stlletto's on a horse!!!!"
Ebay is not doing itself any favours removing feedback if its upsetting buyers.
An upset buyer barely rarely comes back.

Without an official explanation, it's hard to tell who is removing feedbacks. It could even some hack tool that removes it. I don't know if something like that could exist but I'm interested in finding out how, as a shop maintaining a 100% feedback rate by removing negatives isn't fair on smaller sellers that don't have that power. I'm only counting the 5 negatives it's had since I started screenshotting, it had a few more previously & they were removed. I think at one point i had 3 in 3 days & then a 4th 2 days later!!!

if the people leaving the feedback don't complete not as described cases against the seller ebay will remove the feedback
so your screenshots won't be able to confirm or deny whether this was the reason for the removal

"""not worth the money broke within 4 days""" Explain why this feedback would require anyone to fill in a not as described case??? It broke, was it supposed to say it wouldn't break in 4 days in the description so they could fill in the not as described case??? Do me a favour & lets wait for an expert that isn't like the experts we've been seeing on TV for the last 18 months. The feedback system is supposed to be letting others know about your experience, whether or not you opened a case or not is irrelevent. In fact, another "expert" on a similar thread said that mentioning a case would have your feedback removed. So, you suddenly have to open a case to leave negative feedack but you're not allowed to mention it??? Perhaps the experts on here need to have a conflab & get their stories straight!!! If ebay really HAS added lots of hurdles in the way of reporting a negative experience then my previous statement still stands, ebay feedback is as much use as a chocolate blow dart!!!

I do not think you are the only buyer concerned with feedback removal, feedback removal is designed to be fair to sellers and to allow buyers to leave an opinion as to their buying experiance.
Unfortunately some sellers seem to be able and are prepared to get negative feedback removed at will.
This seems to manifest itself as the seller volume and turnover increases - yes more feedback will breach ebay policy and be a justified removal but likewise more feedback will be left to voice a buyer's opinion - simply due to volume.
But a seller's feedback accumulating negatives which constantly dissapear leaving a 100% positive feedback score seems suspicious.
Of course this could technically be possible but not very probable with the diverse number of products and the high number of different human beings buying the products
I think this famous quote sums it up
The following quote is attributed to the poet John Lydgate and later adapted by President Lincoln:
“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time”

I understand but this becomes a false self fulfilling prophecy. The seller with the best feedback has more sales but that same seller isn't really a 100% feedback seller as very resonable negatives are removed. I added an example of a feedback removed. When a buyer views that item, that negative will not appear. They may have sold 1000 of those items & that was the only negative but it should still be there if feedback is to mean anything.

Back down to 1 negaitive. It must be 8 negatives gone in 3 weeks & that's if i didn't miss any. Ebay's feedback system is now a joke!!!!

Same issue with a recent seller. He's clearly a scammer, sent me a cheap power cable off Amazon, used that tracking number to claim that they had delivered a fairly expensive coffee machine & when I left negative feedback along with 3 other people, all of that negative feedback was gone within 24hrs.
Surely if our feedback breaks eBay rules, we should have a chance to revise it.

I still wonder if this is some sort of hacking tool they can use.

I just looked at your seller & they seem like a very small shop so that seems to blow the idea that disappearing feed backs are limited to big sellers!!!

I called eBay, they said they would investigate the seller.

I tried to find ways to contact ebay but couldn't find one. It's more than one seller they need to look into as this isn't the only thread about this. Keep me up to date if they get back to you please. I'm intrigued how sellers are doing this

Feedback removal is not limited to any group of sellers - large small business or private because any feedback breaching policy will either be automatically removed or request removed.
But with very large sellers it seems that feedback can be removed at will and with the comments you have highlighted and the number of feedback being removed to maintain a 100% record, it does not seem plausible.
Now it could be the seller is hacking the system but it is more likely a privilege based on the volume of sales / fees

If you opened a case and it was found in the seller's favour - your feedback is automatically removed as part of ebay's policy - it does not matter what your feedback said positive or negative

I can understand a feedback being removed if the buyer loses a case as it would make a negative pretty invalid. With the seller I've been watching, it seems way too regular to be the case. The worst part is that 3 of the negatives regarded one particular product & 2 were removed. The one negative left is about that product, if that is also removed, that products feedback will be back to 100% when buyers view the item. I suppose it's about the items & not just the seller

I am with you on this one - it is a complex system and no explanation is ever offered to the writer of feedback removed
Feedback should reflect the buyer's experiance as an opinion - ebay allow product reviews in feedback - even though they have introduced a product review feature which is strange to run two parallel systems
Amazon for example will not allow a pure product review as feedback but will as part of the experiance
Not that that is relevant but shows how two giants view feedback

Maybe seller(s) have someone inside... or buyers never contacted seller before leaving neg - and seller is using this as the argument?
29-11-2021 12:39 PM
Contacted the seller multiple times before leaving negative feedback. I was mostly ignored though.

The one negative my seller had is still there but now another 2 added & we'll see how long these 3 are there. Both new ones are for a poor product & poor customer service so they obviously did contact the seller. We're not talking about one negative a month with this seller, we're talking more like 4 in one week & then maybe only 1 & now it'be been 11 in 2 weeks. They'll be back down to 0 zero soon. Time to take my screenshot!!!

Blimey that is about the number of negatives we get in a year ! To put it into context how many neutrals, positives and negatives are there showing in one month for this seller ?
I am guessing it must be in thousands ?
