Late delivery EBAY glitch bug.

I have noticed that Ebay are telling me that over 3% of my items were posted late .

This is impossible as all items go out on time.

It seems that Ebay attempt to update shipping dispatch information is flawed .

As you can see from the screen shot Ebay are calculating the delivery date as the dispatch date .Capture.PNG

@Ebay can you reply to this and sort it out?

Re: Late delivery EBAY glitch bug.

Mine is now over 2% when it is very rare for me despatch any items late.

This is because I have a Royal Mail business collection and my mail is taken away in sealed sacks that has always previously been opened and scanned for acceptance at my regional mail centre the same evening.

From the beginning of November there have been frequent occasions where the mail has not received its first (and in eBays eyes) a late acceptance scan only when it has reached the local regional mailing centre or even the local delivery office.

I am bracing myself to go over the 3% threshold and then loosing my TRS and fee discount that goes with it..

What does the carrier's own tracking show?

eBay treats the first scan as the acceptance scan even if the only scan is the delivery scan. In my experience eBay does seem to be able to obtain the acceptance scan for regular 1st/2nd Class parcels even when the postage was bought direct from Royal Mail and no acceptance scan is shown on RM's website.

This is also the reason I don't upload tracking for haulier items at all. The first scan is not when the pallet is collected from our warehouse but when it is scanned in at a central distribution hub. Uploading tracking therefore means there is a 100% chance eBay will mark the item as "despatched late" even though it was despatched on time.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

The postage option used is RM48 so they only scan the item on delivery .

As you can see from the screenshot, the item is being scanned on the date of delivery so Ebay thinks that the item was sent and delivered on that date and has this is shown on my seller performance.

The way this is shown is new for RM48 so I`m guessing it must be a glitch. surely ?

Re: Late delivery EBAY glitch bug.

I regularly get this problem.

Delivery defects for 2nd class parcel items are automatically removed by eBay.

Defects for T48 don't get removed automatically. I have to contact CS to get them removed (just off the phone getting 2 removed today).

I use the chat assistant and ask for a callback.

It's usually fairly straightforward, just explain they are tracked and that they should be removed under eBay's policies.

It usually takes a couple of days or so for my account to update.

I've tried the online defect appeal in the past but it looks like an AI thing that always denies them, so I don't even bother with it now, just go straight to CS.

I like to keep mine at 0%, which leaves some headroom in case I genuinely have some late despatches.

I realise that in a similar vein to 1st Class & 2nd Class parcels RM24 & RM48 only shows a delivery confirmation in Royal Mail's online tracking. However, the items are still scanned into Royal Mail's network even though that initial acceptance scan isn't publicly displayed. eBay has somehow always had access to the initial acceptance scan as any 2nd Class parcels I send always show the correct date the item was accepted at the Post Office in eBay's report including items dropped off a day "late".

Has anything changed regarding how your items are handed over to Royal Mail?

@4_bathrooms

No buddy ...the same dispatch as always.

I always have lots of late delivery's at this time of year due to the Xmas rush and tempt staff. This year is the worst yet as most of my items are large letters.

Ebay seem to have remove some of the defects ,taking me under 3 % ,but I`m worried that come JUDGEMENT DAY on the 20th   it will be slightly over and I`ll lose my TRS .
