Hi.
I am wondering if any other business sellers are seeing an increase in "Item not received" cases.
Especially in the last 2 weeks.
I have gone from having very few to 4 or 5 a day!
Is the because of the new Royal Mail 2nd class delivery system only delivering every couple of days?
I am aware it started in July with a phase in to different regions and i'm also aware eBay to put a notification down that they are tracking this, but it seems too co-incidental that the INR is getting worse.
I would value your opinion if you are seeing the same thing.
Many thanks

I just purchased an item which was send 2nd Class delivery. It took 6 days from the seller marking as despatched. I'd almost given up on it and thought the seller had marked as despatched when they hadn't acutally sent it. It was still withing the delivery window of 7 days as advised by eBay. Perhaps alter your handling time to take into account the longer time 2nd Class delivery is taking.

Yes, even when I have faster than expected dispatch, I still get 'where's my item' queries. To be fair, people are generally understanding If I explain new RM 2nd delivery schedule and/or long-standing eBay glitch regarding delivery dates... but that takes time.

In short, yes. Royal Mail just isn't bothered anymore. The service has plummeted this year.

It's quite possible that that was actually the case if the label was purchased on eBay as it gets marked as despatched as soon as the label is generated.

I don't think that is true really as where Standard Tariff items are concerned Royal Mail has targets set by Ofcom to meet. If they don't meet those targets then the fines that they incur are substantial. Irrespective of that late deliveries are obviously not good for business.
The recent changes to deliveries agreed with Ofcom are intended to make deliveries more cost effective and the targets more achievable but Royal Mail has stated that it could take up to 18 months to fully implement the changes, so it could be sometime before any real improvements are seen.
