Is the eBay search still completely broken?

Just done a search for some of the products we sell and the results were shocking bringing up totally irrelevant results. How does eBay expect to sell their products with search a poor search engine? I literally put in many accurate search words and the results were things just not relevant so our listings simply would never be seen. This is shocking and I can understand why eBay's shares dived 10%. It's a failing platform and we've sold on here for over 25 years we are seriously considering leaving this platform and concentrating on our other two which do work!

Re: Is the eBay search still completely broken?

Hi, just done a quick 'cut and paste' on a couple of our items. They came up in the top three results, so with other sellers using very similar words, that seems OK. If I use less word for word descriptions, it did pick up some other random items, which is possibly due to high promotion rates, so that's to be expected.

eBay certainly isn't the selling force that it once was, but don't give up. As long as there is a profit in the job then keep going. We'll all have to tighten the already tight belts, but stick with it, take the small profits whilst they are there, and look to the future. On the other hand, if eBay is costing you money, then re-think the project completely, as I am sure you are doing. Best of luck.

Yup it's garbage, my customers search for items on Google that don't come up on E-bay searches.
