Impressions broken again??

Can you please check if there is another problem with impressions? Another counting glitch? These stats can not be correct. Organic impressions promoted views down to under 3000 views today at time of writing. This time last week almost 73000 views. Please help.  dave@ebay kat@ebay

Impressions broken again??

The thing about ending/sell similar that I've taken note of is customer services advise against it.

Can you elaborate on that?  I've never picked up on any advise against not ending/ selling similar - the advice I've directly received and interpreted from webinar and live events is if no active sales this should be regularly done.

Possibly, all part of keeping us guessing!

"customer services advise against it"

Thats a shocker, just shows what a hit and miss Customer Service can be, I took some advice form @ojewellery and watched the Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdjacpSczco

Clearly states the listing period instruction, wish they would all sing from the same hymn sheet. Interesting comment about the 'Dark Art' in the Q&A,  good video worth a watch to anyone who hasnt

I've been ending and relisting since 28 days listings disappeared, (many years ago) usually daily but easily forgotten, this week I had some February rollovers we've missed, have to say the 30 day view count was really poor for what we would have expected, some lines we expect little action others were disappointing.

We try and set our end/relist time roughly the same time each day for us its around 2pm, it helps having the routine, Is there a best time anyone is aware of for extra visibility? chose 2pm hoping its in the system for early evening, that used to get business but these days cant figure it out.

Have been working on a clean up of listings (1500) and trying to implement the suggestions from above videos and others (thanks again @ojewellery ) along with competitive price matching and a new (for us) discount 'sale' trying to shift our low value/competitive market stock, have noted promoted impressions and sales have improved, organics needs not commenting on,

Only a week or two in so fingers crossed

I've had it from customer services on a couple of occassions that I should be ending/relisting as opposed to sell similar.  When I queried this there was no satisfactory explanation as to why this should be the case. I've also seen posts on various threads mentioning the same thing. With ebay I've found what you are told depends on who you get to speak to.

Impressions broken again??

The plot thickens. The following is cut from a post I made not long ago but I stand by...

My understanding is there are two ways to get your listings back up the pecking order relist and sell similar.

Relist has the advantage that if any watchers go to your item in their sales history, they get a link to the relisted item. If opted into eBay marketing they may also get an email with a you can still buy type message. Any sales history associated with the item is also retained so if the item has a good overall sales history along with a good seller feedback rating then this boosts customer confidence. Relist however does retain the original listing date so the boost by relisting is short lived.

Sell similar is in theory a completely fresh listing with all the advantages of a fresh listing. However if litterally nothing is changed (title words or order/ photo order and the content of the listing) the bots see as being of no interest to eBay customers then potentially your sell similar is at a disadvantage to a newly listed item. Sell similar in theory gets a bigger impressions boost than relist. Relist has more influence on those who've already expressed a potential interest so are further down the purchase funnel than those seeing the listing through an impression.

Impressions broken again??

Hi dave@ebay any news on this as it's getting worse and worse.  It's got beyond difficult now and it's bills week next week with no money from eBay sales to pay them.  Another week of this and it's out of business signs going up.

Does anyone check the "Listings quality report" in the performance section?

I look at this sometimes and just checked again, my rankings are all pretty much the same across the categories I list in and I rank Number 1 on impressions in two of my key categories and Number 1 by sales value in two key categories.

Comparing this to the last time I downloaded a report in April and the results are better.

Lots of factors involved in this and everyone has different categories but it could be worth looking at this for further insight.

I was switched on last week and given a turn of selling. Impressions went up and i got a few sales. just enough for the next subscription payment. Then my turn was over ..... There's nothing wrong? it's not a reporting discrepancy either, it's accurate. This is totally an issue with not being seen. Noone buys if they can't find you. Only people buying tend to be the previous buyers.

That is such an accurate description of how we feel we are being treated and quite funny if it were not so serious, switched on momentarily to stop the peasants rebelling! It really does feel as if we are given a few days of visibility and false hope to appease us, make a few sales to cover subscription then that switch is flipped off and onto the next small business seller for their turn!

Mine too - strange drop.  I notice the nice increase in organic over the past week since a bit of ending and sell similar.  Need to build that into my routine.

Impressions broken again??

I'm having the same issue, mine have started to drop since Sunday and my sales reflect that for the last 3 days they have been the same amount within pounds of each other and yet I have been listing every day, adding/amending coupons, sending offers when I get them (these are non exsistent at the moment yet I have loads of watchers).  Even promoting to stupid amounts and it doesn't change anything.  If I hit the sales figure that I must have been assigned at 9 am in the morning I don't get anymore sales that day.  I listed over 50 new items yesterday and nothing.  I even matched their 20% off coupon and promoted at 10% and still nothing.  But I suppose if you are switched off no one can see what you do.  I would be really interested to know if this is just old accounts this is happening?  From looking at a few posters we all seem to have established accounts that have been on ebay for a while

Impressions broken again??

What is going on?!? Our impressions dropped massively yesterday and our sales the same, with the majority of sales coming from repeat buyers. Interesting that someone else has commented about their daily sales being within £'s of each other; we've had the same, every day for weeks our sales were within £15 of each other, no matter how much I listed or took other steps to increase sales. I called and spoke with someone at eBay who said we had a 'soft block' on our account, to stop us going over the VAT limit - but we're VAT registered?! He said eBay was 'thinking of us' and didn't want us to have to pay more VAT so they limited our sales each day. It stopped for a while but for the last week it's started again - dave@ebay - please can you help?

If that is true it's absolutely shocking, I do not mean that you misheard the eBay rep haha I mean them coming out with such garbage.  If I'd come out with so  much nonsense in the career I had for neigh on 30 years I'd have been sacked in six weeks.  Terrible.

same issue here,

the funny thing is even though my graph now shows (since yesterday) promoted and organic impressions near neck and neck my promoted sales are still massively higher than organic,

that part of the site eBay never seems to break!

Impressions broken again??

Over the last week I've been going through my listings, doing some revisions . Sunday saw a 40% jump in impressions which wasn't bad for my small totals and I'd made a few sales over the week. But since then I've run into the proverbial brick wall, impressions down and sales have stopped. I have a couple of bids on auctions, but they'd picked up watchers over the weekend. Can't post charts or the like. Use to be able to do, but not now.
