How do you report a business pretending to be a private seller?

I've stumbled on another seller who has some items fairly similar to mine. However, despite selling several lines which are obviously produced by themselves, and selling hundreds of each line, they are still somehow registered as a private seller. This means they'll be paying lower fees than me, and their customers aren't protected by law.

I've been trying to find a way to report this, and there doesn't appear to be one. Am I just looking in the wrong place, or are eBay no longer bothered by sellers using dodges like this?

No point bothering, spend your time productively like washing your car.

EBay ignore anyway, I saw a private seller a few days ago, who had 17,000 new clothes up and reported to eBay. Who said the same rubbish they spout we had a look at the seller and everything looks okay to us.

“What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.”

To be honest, it's more then denying the customer their legal rights I'm bothered about. If they want to cheat on fees that's on their morals.

I do wonder how they'll manage once GPSR comes in however as they sell to the EU and there is no way they have safety information for what they sell.

My O/H was looking at a kettle on ebay, one business and the other 'private'. Both of them were showing 3 pics of different kettles, so he asked them which pic was the actual one they were selling. The 'private' seller responded stating they would check with the store team. Needless to say he brought it on Amazon instead, when other buyers confirmed which one it was.

I may be wrong (I don't sell outside UK, so I haven't bothered to check the finer details) but I don't think private sellers have to do GPSR - so neither will the unregistered business sellers 😞

@teap0t42

Honestly don’t get dragged down by it, have a read of the last couple of weekly community chats where it’s been brought up several times, there is a lot of frustration as nothing seems to be happening.

It’s not worth reporting, (and I’m not being passive aggressive, or sarcastic)  the whole thing just puts you in a negative frame of mind and is unproductive all sides.

One of my categories is completely saturated with such listings, price has completely sunk to below sea level! I can’t compete so I’ve decided after Christmas to get out of several lines and the incorrectly registered users can sell for pennies, and ship all over the world without the hassle of GPSR.
