Wow, if all private sellers can list and sell with no fees that is going to change the whole site.
It's been reported over on the private sellers forums and via other places too
Small picture of the eBay banner.

Can you post a link instead of a screenshot.

It's causing some confusion as fees still seem applicable with the exception of clothing.

Sadly I do not have a link, as the banner is from another sellers account, but they sent me the banner, which other have seen (check the private sellers forum)
The banner has vanished.... But IMHO, it could be a sign of things to come for private sellers, totally fee free....terrible news for business sellers and it would be totally unfair.

As far as i can tell it applies to pre loved clothing only, nothing has changed at all.
Ebay would not do that unless it was just a short term offer to try and lure in new and old sellers.

Never be to sure of what eBay will do, this offer could go live / be announced soon, as it looks like the banner went out by early by mistake
But time will tell.
It would be a killer blow for most of the other selling sites.

Positives if true it would make eBay used more by buyers which is good for business sellers I suppose.
Negatives however private sellers will be able to offer things slightly cheaper so business sellers are gonna have to either lose profits to compete or make sure their product listings are so much better than someone offering cheaper.
I do wonder however if eBay were to do this, they'd lose a large revenue stream that they'll no doubt make up somewhere else and we'll feel the effects

I got it too, was thinking it just meant free to list. Can't see anything else to confirm it which is why I came on here.

just incase my picture did not show on my original message.

I tried to click on the 'learn more' hyperlink in the photo 🤣🤣

One of the private sellers tried the hyperlink and it just took them to the standard ebay selling page.
This either a poorly put together pop up or something that has been released too early.

Speculation, a big announcement in the next day or two at the USA Ebay conference.

I've registered for the conference. Hope that give constant updates on any big news, my life is too short and interesting to watch it all. Start time is 4pm, so I would think midnight here - good job I'm a night owl.

Well, it looks like eBay is going Fee free for private sellers, I checked the German ebay fee structure for business sellers in the hopes that business seller fees where much lower than in the UK, but sadly not, it looks as if the free fees in Germany for private sellers is propped up by business sellers full fee structure.

Ebays fee policy for private sellers was updated yesterday. FVF have not changed so I wouldn't get too excited yet.

The way I see it, eBay will have to get their lost revenue from somewhere - so business sellers are the ones who are going to be hit by this.
Also, if this now tempts more 'non-business' people to sell on eBay, that means more people being collared by HMRC - so more money for the taxman.
On the other hand, if the non-business people start realising they are being reported to HMRC, and the business sellers leave after being charged heftier fees by eBay as compensation for their loss in revenue, it might just be a disaster for eBay.

The fee free for private sellers is nailed on,my guess though it will announced later today after 9am or tomorrow....
It appears to be eBay worst kept secret.
