Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

That’s the same graph as we are seeing for our sector!

Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

Its pretty much the same graph for every sector on ebay. With other platforms also taking a downturn.

Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

With the exception being Christmas items which weirdly enough started ramping up mid-late October.

So looking at a  section like christmas present or christmas gift, sees a 10x increase starting mid october

That chimes with my buying over the last 6 weeks... £46 spent on 2 items here, compared to £502 on Amazon (with Cyber Monday yet to come, when I can buy with confidence from brand sellers and accredited dealers, unlike here)... and the reason is completely to do with the search results & manipulation, multiple listings from overseas sellers, bad sellers, inaccurate descriptions and misleading conditions, unreliable & inconsistent customer service experience and outcomes, the delivery fiasco, and feedback removal.

Has anyone’s Christmas rush started yet?

Not on here, no. Doing okay on the V* and elsewhere.
To be fair I’ve cancelled eBay shop subscription which was my last attempt on here at the start of Q4, running the majority of my categories down, and moving on. I won’t promote, low value collectibles, so I’m not the sort of business seller eBay wants.
As I always say, got to do what is right for your business.

No rush - but this weekend eBay suddenly rose from its torpor and yielded four orders.  That caught me by surprise.

However, my other platform and website went wild.  No idea why - I don't sell Christmas stuff.  For the first time in ages, I had to drag out my extra large bag to haul the stuff to the PO.

What I can't understand is e bay are following V's  model, however, V postage is a lot cheaper using the same postage options.  Think this has a lot to do with it.

But most importantly of all, this is the killer...

V treats consumer to consumer 2nd hand goods sales as such. They even quote appropriate law to back it up. When something arrives, you have 72 hours to confirm all is OK, that's it.

None of this someone finding a cheaper item or getting a big gas bill on day 29 then getting a free return for buyers remorse by claiming it was 'faulty'.

This lot however impose better than the law even as it applies to business to consumer conditions on car boot items in the belief it's what buyers want. Well, you know what, V shows that buyers are HAPPY to pay less in exchange for near-sold-as-seen terms, and when I'm selling private stuff, I feel better about it too!
