HELP! Chinese sellers purporting to be in the UK and displaying Union Jack as 'UK STOCK'

HELP! Chinese sellers purporting to be in the UK and displaying Union Jack as 'UK STOCK'

Unbeknowingly I purchased a small item. It took weeks to get here (arousing suspicion)  and I purchased another from a genuine local seller.

I tried to return it but it says I need to purchase a label for China... which would be more than the cost of the item. Ebay have nowhere I explain this to.

The seller is simply saying 'return through Ebay'. HaHa very funny!

He is in serious breach of the Ebay regs but I think it is an unwritten rule not to bother with such contraventions.

Disgusted and appauled.

Assuming that you have a return open.  Allow it to get to the point where you can escalate it, and do so.

Do you have an item id?

We had advice from eBay some while back.   Simply open a "not as described case" and wait for the label to be sent.  The seller may say that he cannot do so being in China.  But it is his problem!

After 3 full business days simply escalate the case to eBay and you should get a refund and get to keep the item too!  @maxville-marketing

I feel that I should add, that you will only be able to do this if the location on the listing is not actually showing China.

In addition to the advice already given, if the listing stated that the item was located in the UK then you should report the listing for 'Item location misrepresentation'.  The more people that report it the more likely eBay are to take action.

Finally, once you have got your refund make sure you leave appropriate feedback remembering to keep it polite, factual, and to the point.

It's not advice but an actual prctical strategy.. that works!
