Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all keeping well.
At the moment I manage all of the international postage myself.
I wondered if anyone might know if it is possible to opt in to the Global Shipping program just for parcels going to the rest of Europe and then I still manage and send the parcels to the rest of the World myself so to speak ?, hope that makes sense.
Thanks for all your help, much appreciated.
Mark.

I don't know much about GSP. I don't think there is that option exactly.
But if you turn on GSP for an item, you can set your own pricing for the countries/regions below (well this is what it shows me), which would mean they use these prices rather than GSP (I don't know what happens if your prices are higher than GSP.) In this list (shown to me), there's no options e.g. for Africa - so they would also use GSP.
I've not tried but possibly using Postage Rates might give you the option to define prices for more countries than the below - presumably you would not specify prices for Europe and let those go GSP.
All countries in N. and S. America
United States
Canada
All countries in Europe
European Union
Ireland
Germany
France
Greece
Italy
Spain
Russian Federation
All countries in Asia
Japan
Australia

There is an option in the GSP preferences for "customize international shipping for some locations"
On the help it states: "Offer alternate international shipping services to buyers in some locations. You'll see the eligible locations when you create a listing."
So if you have the option ticked, then you should be able to amend locations from the listing itself.
Really no idea how this works though as I just use GSP for everything.
Too much hassle to do it myself.
This link should take you there:

Thank you for coming back to me and helping, much appreciated. Yes, I am wondering that if I turn on GSP it mentions that it adds a drop down box on the postage section about sending to the GSP warehouse, so possibly I can then use this for the EU and set my own rates for the Rest Of The World. Just worrying at the moment what will happen if I switch GSP on as I don't want to mess everything up and cause havoc !!.

Just turning GSP on, will have zero effect on your items.
It needs to be added to the postage policy as well.
So I would suggest that you setup a temporary policy for a test listing and work it out from there.

That's brilliant, thank you for coming back and letting me know that. On that basis I can switch it on, set up a new policy, add one product on and then see what gets displayed to the customer by playing around with the destination country.

If you enter correct data for the size and weights of parcels when listing, the GSP handles all the other issues. You seem to be making life difficult for yourself and losing out on bids from the rest of the world. I know it can be disastrous if you get the size and/or weight wrong for international sales.
