GPSR update on hidden listing

Bear in mind we had already blocked the EU, Northern Ireland and removed GSP before it was hidden (as advised by ebay)...but it seems that won't stop ebay asking you for documents:

Over a week after we submitted the documents for GPSR in an appeal and we've heard nothing. We were only given a few days to submit the documents originally, it wasn't enough time to get them from the supplier...so now we just have an item off sale we can't relist and no word from ebay at all and no updates.

We've also waiting for a reply from ebay on an investigation into why we were asked for documents as we've been told this shouldn't happen if we only sell into England, Wales and Scotland (also says this on ebays own help page on GPSR). Weve been waiting a couple of weeks now, the last message said they were escalating it as it was an error, but we've heard nothing.

Not a good sign, conflicting information from multiple ebay sources and no reply to appeals.

On removing EU+NI I am mentioning just in case your not aware and it may assist others

Its not just EU or EU button on Ebay, I think I am correct in saying its part of the European Economic Agreement which includes non 'EU' countries So Norway, Iceland, Turkey, Belarus etc etc All countries part of the EEA  need to be removed. My understanding is that the only country exempt I think is Sweitzerlansd

As for the Compliance Department, cant comment but would suggest if they read these forums the inability to communicate with them needs to be addressed

The only other countries we post to on ebay are the USA, Canda and Australia I think, so still no idea why we're being asked for the documents. But I'll double check my shipping template just in case 👍

We've had more messges about adding the EU information. I spoke to ebay on the phone who said that an old shipping template with a couple of items in it still had the Global Shipping Programme on it, and that was probably triggering it, advsied to remove it so we won't be asked again.

I did try adding the information to one product today anyway...took about 20 minutes to upload everything and manually enter all the UK name, address, contact info and the same for the EU part...it would take me around 200-250 hours work at that rate so hoping this works.

Belarus is not in the EEA but is likely blocked anyway due to their support of Russia. The three non-EU EEA members are Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Turkey isn't in the EU, EEA nor the Schengen Area.

As I understand it the GPSRs will therefore apply to the EU 27, Iceland, Leichtenstein, Norway and Northern Ireland.

We've now been told in a message from ebay that the GPSR is all about UKCA rules and nothing to do with the EU or NI...which is obvilously completely wrong...it's scary how badly informed ebays advisors are about this.

We've also been told by another ebay advisor that our listings should be compliant as we've now removed ALL internatinal and NI delivery options.

Fingers crossed this works or it's goodbye ebay after a decade of trading with them as they've now run us round in circles for so long, we don't have time to add all the documents and contact details on each listing, it would take me until Feb/March to complete it all if I work several hours per day on it.
