GPSR - 27 EU countries. Mattel has 27 Responsible people. How do I list all of these

GPSR

I sell into many EU countries. Mattel has a web site listing all the different phone numbers.

How do I put all these on every one of my 1500 listings, or even one?

You need the one named on the Declaration of Conformity that you are required to provide for the product.

(It looks like it's the Dutch one).

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

On Mattel's web site there are only Declaration of conformity for Radio controlled cars. If it doesn't have any electronics there is no DOC. So I can't find anything for hot wheels cars made in Malaysia. I can find the dutch address but no responsible person.

Interesting - that is due to radio and electronic compliance.

If you look on a box that isn't for a radio controlled model does it state anything like "This is not a toy" or "14 years+"? If so EN71 does not apply so there won't be a DoC for those products.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

I've just looked on Mattel's website and could only find this die-cast model. It states "14+ Ages" so that product would not fall under the remit of EN71 so doesn't require a toy safety DoC. As it also isn't battery powered nor radio controlled it would not require a DoC at all - Mattel seem to market it as a collector's scale model.

You need to look on the packaging of the items you have; do any of them have a CE mark on them?

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

They have the CE mark also UKCA and EAC. In terms of age they have a not for 0-3 symbol.

If there is no DOC then how do I get the name of the responsible person?IMG_1110 (1).jpg

GPSR is designed to limit imports into EU.

It is making things as hard as possible to sell into EU.

Who has a rep in each EU country to manage imports ?

I certainly dont.

As the packaging has the lion mark, CE and UKCA symbols (EAC is for Russia) someone has drawn up the technical documentation and obtained a DoC. You should be able to obtain these from your supplier - whoever imported the goods into the UK was responsible for ensuring the compliance documents were in order. Due to the marks that are present there should be a DoC included with the product or a link to where the DoC can be downloaded from.

The writing is blurred in that image but I can just make out a bit that states "Manufactured, exported or distributed by" - it looks like there a few addresses but the underlined one looks like the Dutch address that appears on the DoCs for their electronic toys. If you have no luck with your supplier - although they really should be able to provide them - that is who you need to contact.

Give me ambiguity or give me something else.

Sellers don't need a rep in every EU country. If the manufacturer is established outside the EU the seller needs to employ one responsible person in the EU who will be held responsible for product safety.
