So today I received back a tiny 1930s dollshouse metal fridge that was deemed unsafe for air travel. Was it scanned,,,I don’t know. There was no batteries, electrical wires or gas bottles. And probably not since it measures only 3 inches high.!!! I mean apart from its tiny metal food what could be put in it….
Took ages to get through to RM who did not have a clue. Told to fill out a claim form. Only want my postage back. No box for that, only for damage. So even though I dont want to claim for damage, it has to go through as a claim for damage.. There is no alternative box
Cannot complain to RM because there is no box to tick with my problem and only a contact us button which will take you back to a RM Cs person who doesn’t have a clue…
I just have a feeling that I will not get a postage refund…

What tariff code and description did you enter on the CN22 form? It sounds as though either Royal Mail or customs thought you were trying to send an actual fridge.
I don't think you're going to be able to claim the cost of postage back from Royal Mail. Their claim forms are mostly concerned with loss, damage or delayed delivery; none of which apply in your case. Also, if the item was rejected by customs Royal Mail will wash their hands of any responsibility anyway.

This will be a commodity code and description problem
Perhaps should have been described as dolls miniature item code 9503009990 possible code there isn't one that i can find that describes dolls house miniature accessories.
If you mentioned fridge anywhere that will be why they rejected it.
Claiming your postage unlikely to happen but never say never keep on at them
try ringing them 03457 740 740

Yes I did describe it as a miniature fridge. Never giving it a thought they would think it was real. Have sent a picture of it as well with a ruler.
I don’t hold up any hope of a refund. I can only try…
