Fees increase

It is absolutely disgusting that eBay are putting their fees up yet again so they can get their grubby little hands on what tiny profit is left these days for business sellers. They have made it increasingly difficult in recent years for business sellers and we have been asking for quite some time for help by way of a reduction in selling fees but do they listen? Do they hell! It's like they have nothing but contempt for us. It made my blood boil when they offered free selling for private sellers and now they have decided to shaft us even more. Personally I cannot wait to join the 7 million active sellers that they have lost in the last 10 years (Google it). I used to love selling on eBay but now I absolutely hate it and that is purely down to how badly it is run. They don't listen to us, they don't care about us, they don't help us, they are absolutely abhorrent!!

Re: Fees increase

You forgot to add that when Amazon also list the exact same product on the same catalogue page with  same listing error, maybe even copyright that' perfectly OK

Re: Fees increase

Disappointing to read the change to the final value fee, it should be done away with all together to be honest, or reduced for lower priced items then i would mind paying the higher rate on more expensive items. But i think over £10 is too low when we already need to send tracked postage and it should have been over £20-25.

No doubt Royal Mail will be giving us all price rises come April too. Its really not worth selling cheaper items on here anymore unless your a private seller or based in another country.

The fee changes should also have been sent as a formal seperate message not lumped into a newsletter that i hadnt bothered to read until i saw this thread. Very poor communication from Ebay and not even a full calendar month of notice.

Re: Fees increase

".......... not even a full calendar month of notice." - although the industry standard is generally a minimum of 30 days for a price increase notification it is not a legal requirement.  eBay reduced their notification of terms and conditions on their user agreement to 15 days some time ago.

"Very poor communication from Ebay ... " - I agree, a fee increase should be a stand alone announcement and boldly highlighted.

Re: Fees increase

Thanks for the heads up - must have missed this. I have just added £0.25 to all my prices to cover the increase.

Re: Fees increase

If they keep increasing FVF percentages, at some point they'll end up over 100%.

Re: Fees increase

  1. Listing fee or shop fee.
  2. Per order fee (fixed).
  3. Regulatory operating fee.
  4. Final value fee.
  5. Promoted listing fee (optional, sort of).
  6. Plus a bit extra if you sold it to an overseas buyer.

Don't forget to add the VAT unless you're registered. 😂

Reminds me of our beloved government's approach to everything.
