Well this is the end of my eBay account. There has been so many obstacles to selling lately but today out of the blue & one day away from a major payment they say I need to verify the bank account. Now they have been paying into this account for years and the payments are paused for 48 hours. This is certainly just to hold on to the cash balance. So will clear everything I want to sell over the next few months & then close it. Over the last few months I’ve been thinking off doing more on eBay but will now look at other avenues.

They have to by law verify bank accounts etc under "Know your customer".

So it will not have been done on purpose, but just has been bad timing.

Nothing more than that.  To think otherwise, is frankly very Orwellian.

 

Judging by your sales, you are also not a private seller.  So you are registered incorrectly in any case.

I’ve had bank accounts verified many times before at other places with it being immediate. Don’t you understand how big business can manipulate things so cash is working for them? As for a seller. I’m selling stuff so I’m a seller.

Really, you should try the same process on Amaxxn then, that can take weeks!

And the stupid thing is, that you really won't see, is that it's just as much about protecting you as anything else.

 

As to being a seller, if you are trading, which you are, then you are breaking the law by not using the correct account.  Along with multiple other laws.

I suggest that you do something about it before you are reported to Ebay and Trading standards.

I’m just selling some possessions so not trading per se but selling. As for tried that years ago & amazon are more greedy that eBay.

Thanks but I have verified the account. It’s the 48hrs payment block that has hit hard as I have bills to pay.
