Not mine but some other business sellers listings and About Me pages are not showing full contact information. Just name and address.
I'm more intrigued than anything, how is that possible? No email or number.
Even sellers I've purchased from.

Yep, i've noticed this over the last few weeks, perhaps to stop people contacting direct...?

@exponential_developments
I would like to know how they hide it though.

It either is to do with how you class the business when setting up the profile. I think if LTD then you do have to provide this information and it will be displayed.
When i setup mine, it was only optional to add mobile and email address.
In account, personal information or business preferences you can edit it within there

That's right. It was optional and used to be hidden at the bottom under 'additional information'.

Hmmmm, no option to edit/hide in any menu.
Not really bothered but would like to hide mobile.

In the setting profile, remove where you entered the email address and phone number and then it wont be visable on listings or about me page.
I never entered the info and so i dont have it displayed on mine

I don't have my phone number up either as received nasty phone calls from eBay buyers in the past who bought a item or a item that went through GSP and ranted it hadn't got there and it was my fault etc

I hid mine had some rather nasty phone calls from eBay buyers in the past
also removed my name as well and just put my eBay id up.

I removed my phone number about 3 years ago after too many phone calls, some in the middle of the night from international customers.
Called eBay about it at the time they just said in your business info to remove the number and that was it.

Thanks but when I remove it no option to save, it's greyed out.
Had a couple of unwanted WhatsApp communications, using mine and other posters ids on this forum. So want to remove it now.
On to Dublin tomorrow.

Could you help me here?
According to the German CS it is a legal requirement for business sellers to show email and contact telephone number on all listings. Yet I have seen numerous business sellers not showing tel.no.
(I've had 4 WhatsApp messages from someone wanting to me to open a UK for them based in Pakistan, obviously blocked, but the source is clearly eBay)
Just want to remove it please.

For me its the top left hover over where it says "Hello *Name*" then click Account Settings
On the left hand menu bar there is a link for "Public business info"
Then in the main contact details bit you can edit each thing in turn and have it removed, I just added a number and then removed it fine without an issue.

@bojangled On the Government website for online selling under the distance and online selling regulations I can only find the following which are compulsory:
your business name, contact details and address
your email address
your VAT number (if your business is registered for VAT)
Considering an email address constitutes a contact detail I would presume you can withold a telephone number. I could find nothing which specifically states you have to provide a telephone number. A telephone number does however engender trust and reliability with buyers.

This is what is stated as being required in the Consumer Contracts Regulations:
"the geographical address at which the trader is established and, where available, the trader's telephone number, fax number and e-mail address, to enable the consumer to contact the trader quickly and communicate efficiently"
The intention is clearly for there to be a means whereby a consumer can make contact quickly with the trader. The "Contact" button provided by eBay serves this purpose so I would posit displaying a telephone number and/or a direct email address is optional. I'm not sure it's even possible to send a fax anymore.

You can buy new SIM cards on eBay for £1
Just get a SIM for eBay calls only
You don't even have to switch the phone on...

Do you know which regulation has precedence? The online distance selling regulations ( Online and distance selling : Online selling - GOV.UK ) only specifically mentions an email address. I have both and have no intention of taking the telephone number off but it can be nuisance with international buyers who often don't take time zones into consideration.
I can't remember the last time I sent a fax ....... probably about the last time I used a 'floppy disc'.

@myriad*seller Yes that's my plan.
But me being the festering kind, I don't understand why I have mine displayed without the option to remove.
Maybe I will attempt to get Deblin again later.

Did you try what I suggested above, it's how I edited mine and spoke to a friend of mine with a business account and they can do the same thing as well
