I've had no sales for a week many times, when I first started trading on here in 2009 I had regular sales daily for years but I think those days are long gone now.The sales on this site have now declined to a point that makes it hardly worthwhile anymore.

Try car boot sales apparently they are very busy now!

Same no sales whatsoever. Happened since the 28th March for us. Our offsite ad impressions have dropped off a cliff also. Same on our amazon store though tbf. People just arent spending. End of.

I agree people aren’t spending, if they are it’s all about outside stuff given the weather.
But April is hard aside from the bills, there’s Easter, just got over Mother’s Day, and 2 bank holidays fast approaching.
I won’t mention anything ‘political’ but obviously that’s having an effect too.

Your so right. We sell a variety of vinyl stickers and our big seller this time of year is boat name stickers because people are putting their boats back in the water. Guess what? No sales. Either people are skint or wary of spending. I believe we are already in recession.

I'm struggling too.
The wonky app isn't helping (in my opinion) I was bidding on an auction and ended up losing out because it wasn't updating my bids properly.

This is started for us on the 1st April which we can see clearly by the stats. Massive decline. Down 50%.
11-04-2025 5:29 PM
Yep same for me. Very end of March, beginning of April is when the decline started. I personally think people are just skint with all the bills rising up at the same time. If you can hang on I think it will come back second half of the year (Fingers crossed)

Your right. And families are saving for their Easter break maybe on top of the bills like you say. This is the worst I have known sales on our ebay store in 20 years and amazon is dead as well so its got to be the economy etc.

I have had no new sales this week and that is a first for me. I’ve had times of 3 or 4 days with no sales but nothing like this. I say new sales because I had a customer who wanted to add to her order so she cancelled the original sale and repurchased an extra item so I don’t really count that. I had a good month last month so clearly I’ve had my turn
12-04-2025 9:26 AM
Same for us. Just looked at our listing page views stats and they are half of what they were in March. This all started on the 27th March as you can clearly see the stat chart drop 50%. Is it all the April bill increases and families saving for Easter holidays? I don’t know. What I do know is I’ve never had a year like this at the same time of year. April is normally a very good month for us due to what we sell. I did speak to a few people last week and eBay came up in conversation and they all said they do not shop on eBay anymore

Why would anyone shop on Ebay any more ?
Private Sellers are deserting the place as more changes follow even more changes as Ebay desperately try to keep up with a rival and in the process forget who their core business appeals to
I wouldnt want Ebay as a business partner either, unreliable, changes things at the drop of a hat, sneaky fees, rubbish communication..not exactly the bedrock of a good business relationship.
I bet the business fees wont go down despite the buyer exodus, because those private sellers....well amazingly they buy as well !
Nowadays theres not much to love really, and even worse for Ebay theres more choice out there.

I think there are numerous factors at play here.
For example.
People don't have much in the way of disposable income at present.
Collecting seems to be less and less fashionable with people, where ebay once excelled due to the diversity of product, and are now concentrating more on experiences.
The age demographic of ebay members is rising which plays into point 1 (myself and 2 friends polled our kids, ages 19 - 31, on how many of them buy or sell on ebay. Only one of them, out of seven, had an ebay account and then admitted he hadn't used it in ~2 years). Ebay just isn't where they would consider shopping, if they shop online they use "other sites" due ease, cost and speed of delivery.
The popularity of local marketplaces online which eliminates a lot of waiting time.
The increasing complexity, cost and time involved in listing and selling an item.
These are some of the issues that I think are afflicting ebay in particular.
To compound their problems, I don't think they are addressing the issues well, if at all.

Our sales are down around 30% on last month, the same goes for impressions and traffic, so quite obviously less people on the platform.
On the other hand our Vinted store is also down.
12-04-2025 11:27 AM
Our other 'platform' is down 25% as well.

Received delivery of stock on Friday, 5 items. Small collectible vintage items, quite niche.
Listed on here (on business account) and V*n*ed yesterday afternoon.
Note neither listing is appearing on Google search.
24 hour results:
Ebay, 2 views 0 watchers, no sales.
V, 17 views, 15 watchers, 1 sale, (then relisted) now 1 reservation.
Is eBay just too big?
12-04-2025 2:26 PM
I listed something last week on both platforms. No views on here no sales but immediately viewed and favourited on V and sold this morning I think eBay know they have problems as it seems they are trying to copy just about everything V does. It makes me very happy when I sell an item over there. No fees to pay and no postage to worry about. The in post locker is a walk from my house so it’s easy and although you don’t get the money until the buyer receives it the price sold is exactly what you get. I don’t have many listings over there and it’s mostly stuff from my house but I do see the folks at eBay scratching their heads not knowing what to do next

@vintagechinashop getting my head around realising the price I sell at is the actual amount I receive over there, no fees, no promo, no long list of deductions, as you say makes me happy.
