been away for about 4 days,and looking at the activity of it since then ,its a dead as a doornail,come on folks,its needs to better than this,otherwise i cant see the point in carry- ing on with it.

if your on about post wise mate there has been more removed again today from what I can see 😞 as for joining in it does seem a bit quiet but there are still plenty of ways members can join in even if they dont have any successes to post.

I think it is quiet across the hobby in general as far as genuine successes are concerned, not just this forum. Some maybe cutting costs due to tough times, and when that happens, hobbies are among the first casualties.

As for other topics of conversation - it rarely happens. I have tried so many times over the years, but most cannot be bothered, so I can no longer be bothered. Sad really as there is a lot more to this hobby.

Add to that posts being deleted here and there, which I am sure also puts some people off on these eBay groups.

Well i for one have nothing out but try to comment on as many as i see ,but it is very quiet my group is really suffering and i am running a comp every week in the hope that members may visit more but just the same old faces who are welcome of course .

I have been considering stepping down from my group and offering it too somebody else too run but put in a lot of work so i will stick with it again and see how things pan out,i am nearly sorted at home now so fingers crossed i can send out some in the next week or so.

But i do agree with Nigel in the lack of conversation in the groups mine included.

There are many forums scattered around the web dedicated to autographs. Some people are loyal to one or two, others like me do not care how many forums there are as long as there are unique audiences, and no pointless duplication of effort. I actively post on three, and browse others.

I have tried your footy autographs forum Sy. My problem is that it is the same people posting who are on here. Those who are not on here rarely contribute, if at all. If it had a bigger range of people not posting here it would be more of value.

I should add - I think you had a good idea Sy, and I know it covers a wider span of footy interest such as general memoraibilia and the game in general. I tried sparking some interest with some topics myself, but most people just cannot be bothered. It is a general malaise of the internet generations - it has to be quick, basic, and if possible, handed to people on a plate, so they do not have to use any brain power.

Nigel i know you tried mate thank you for that i wish i could have a 100 Nigel's in my group then i might get somewhere but i will keep plugging away and see what happens ,it does not help that ebay have knackered the invite system as i know i could generate more wider topics instead of just autographs i have 1000s of programmes that i could share knowledge on and also have good knoweldge on various team programmes.

correct alex,i dont mind spending my time running the group,when there are regulars posting,but ive noticed that quite a few  regulars from 6 months ago no longer post,its just a dwindling number from month to month,

I try to reply to all the post's on here and would add more of my own replies, if only they would come back! :_| A lot of discussions are about football and while I have an interest in the game, my knowledge is limited so, I stay quiet. A lot of the members who used to come on here do seem to have disappeared though and although there are 1721 members, it seems to be the same ones putting the effort in.

I've found it's getting very quiet both on the forum and via the post.I seem to get two or three replies one day the nothing for the next few.

I manage to get onto the forum most days if time (or the computer) allows,and this is the only forum I now regularly comment on and whilst unfortunately we've lost a few good (and not so good) members,I think the hard core left have developed some good friendships which I hope will continue.
