I hope they are ok Alan - great success if genuine.
I would have thought anyone signing secs would have cleanly signed on the white space, whereas someone trying to protect their own sig a bit, would sign across the dark area as with these.

Alan i am no expert on autographs from other clubs apart from my collection where i have so many too compare with .
But too me the top graph and the bottom graph don't look the same as though done by a different hand only an opinion mate as i too hope they are genuine.
Fingers crossed for you:)

Great reply from Di Stefano. Really hope they are the genuine article.

not a clue if they are real hope they are...he has been quite ill very recently so that could go two ways really either they could be secs due to him not being able to sign or his illness may have affected him in some way which could make his sig or handwriting different meaning they could be authentic but just with slight differences to his usual sig...hope you manage to find out anyway 🙂

Well done to you Alan I hope they are ok .

I don't really know Di Stefano's signature so hope it's okay

would still love to have a close look at a bigger scan of these signatures...if anyone knows how to do it

Great result and hope they are ok.

Hopefully this will help. I cropped both sigs, and made two individual images. Looking at them, I do believe they were signed by the same hand.

Personaly i still think it is 2 different hands they are very close but hey its only a opinion

thanks for all your help guys

(Cheers for the enlarged scans guys!)
If there's 1 thing about Di Stefano's sig it's that, unlike George Best etc., his signature does tend to have slight variations, i have 3 in my collection from 2005, 2009 & 2010, all slightly different but all signed by the same hand. What i do is look for the little constants (excuse my poor vocabulary) in every signature i.e the little things that always remain the same i.e the shape of the 'Di' at the beginning, the dot/dash just before the f in stefano, the upward slope of the sig, the line underneath the sig, the fact he always dates his sig
Also as someone mentioned, Alfredo is quite a frail man which possibly contributes to the way his signatures can look a tad dissimilar at times - On one of my photo's i asked him to dedicate which he did along with some sort of message in spanish, his signature looks quite different to the norm on that one
To conclude, i don't doubt your 2 photo's are authentic, all the hallmarks are certainly there.
