#1220 Alex - Quite right. A couple more today.

Emperor The Gods of War HB 1/1 2006 by Conn Iggulden. 50p

Very popular author of historical epics. This was from a charity shop that had a four books for £1 bargain book case. I found this, and one unsigned book for reading, but could honestly not find another two books of interest, so just stuck with the two books.

The Family Album HB 1/1 1999 by Spike Milligan. £3.99

Chuffed to bits with another find by the legendary Spike. This is one of those large format coffee table books and is in lovely shape. I love Spike and The Goons, so this is right up my street. I really would be quite content if this was my last signed item of 2011.

Found this today ..Cost a £1 from a local charity shop.

Philippa Gregory's Novel " The Virgin's Lover" looks like it has never been read.

Philippa Gregory was an established historian and writer when she discovered her interest in the Tudor period and wrote the novel The Other Boleyn Girl which was made into a tv drama, and a major film. Now, six novels later, she is looking at the family that preceded the Tudors: the magnificent Plantaganets, a family of complex rivalries, loves, and hatreds.

Picked this one up today...50p..from Sense charity shop.

Paper backed autobiography "The Devil in the Kitchen" from 2007 by Marco Pierre White...Had a look on a famous internet auction site and the Graphs all seem to be very loopy and flowing in one constant line....so not sure on this one but for that price I'm not complaining...can't and won't leave them on the shelf even if I am not sure on authenticity.

Marco Pierre White (born 11 December 1961) is a British celebrity chef, restaurateur and television personality. He is noted for his contributions to contemporary international cuisine, and his exceptional culinary skills.

White has been dubbed the first celebrity chef, the enfant terrible of the UK restaurant scene and the Godfather of modern cooking. White was, at the time, the youngest chef ever to have been awarded three Michelin stars. He has trained chefs such as Gordon Ramsay

His sig seems consistant everywhere I look for examples, and it is nothing like this Alex. I wonder if it was written by a relative of the birthday person trying to dress it up as a more special gift?

Great find to start the year Alex. It's a good book as well, one I enjoyed a lot. One to add later also. She's been getting quite a few chat show spots lately, so good timing.
