have a look at this one Neil...Colin's opinion a few weeks ago was that this was a genuine Beckham and a bargain. are there similarities?

Sorry, it is not real, it is a printed signature in all copies of the book. Very realistic though.

Thanks Nigel, Not seen that book with the pre printed sig inside....one to stay away from. We did have a list didnt we with books with printed graphs in them, Lewis Hamilton was one and that large U2 book.

It was on that list Alex. It is one of the most commonly seen that fools people along with the Robbie Williams (printed sig on inside of dust jacket - that was a crafty one), A Way Of Life by Reg Kray (very realistic), Douglas Liversidge's Queen Mother book (another crafty one, the printed sig is raised so it seems more real) and the Bay City Rollers sleeve for Rollin'. All surface on eBay as signed from time to time because so many think they are real.

Today's find was £2.50. The original owner was obviously a big fan as there are newspaper/magazine cuttings throughout the book which adds a nice bit of history. A scarce book unsigned, so well chuffed with a signed edition from a lady considered as one of the greatest English ballerinas of all time.

What a great find -- It is still amazing what turns up in charity shops -- always worth a look.

Great find Nigel.

I bought one in a charity shop today, but should have gone with my instincts, and not bought it, as I paid way over the true worth of the book. If it had not been for charity, I would have haggled until they paid me to take the book.

50p! You've been had Nigel.

I was also surprised he could sign his own name, and not use an 'X' or some other rudimentary symbol in lieu of a signature.

Sorry, forgot the smiley in the last post. 🙂

I picked this up yesterday from the sense charity shop, 50p, signed paperbacked firstedition of Andre Dubus III
book " The Garden Of Last Days". Andre Dubus III (born 1959) is an American novelist and writer of short stories. He is a member of the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. A member of PEN American Center, Andre Dubus III has served as a panelist for The National Book Foundation, The National Endowment for the Arts, and has taught writing at Harvard University, Tufts University, Emerson College, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell where he is a full-time faculty member. There is a crease at the right front corner but For 50p I won't be leavng them on the shelf.

Nice pick up Alex. You're right not to leave it on the shelf at that price.
