Touching ex Luton Town TTM reply

I wrote to former Luton player Dave Pacey at the beginning of the month to get my card signed by him.

Dave played 277 times for Luton between 1957-65 and I received my cards and this letter back from his wife explaining how she had helped him to sign the postcard and my football card( which was signed on the back as she didn't want to spoil my card)

I hadn't realised Dave had alzheimers and couldn't write anymore,and was very touched at the efforts taken to sign my cards.

That's a very special reply. It's so very sad he's so unwell but it must be nice for his family that he is still remembered.

Thats a sad letter to read, but on the other hand its a great result, to me this is the result and letter of the year.

Very sad letter..... and must comment these guys were proper footballers who played for the love of the game unlike most of them today, Like others have mentioned some of his family members must love it when he recieves somthing like this as it shows he is still being thought about after all these years
