Finishing with my fourth of four replies today, and the one that got me excited the most.
Saul Jephcott - 88 days (international success)
Most of you are probably thinking who the hell is this? I can understand that. Unless you are a diehard EE fan, you probably would not know Saul who appeared in EastEnders for 6 months from Aug 1989 to Feb 1990. His signed EE card has become one of the rarest of all the known EE cards. I had one in my original collection, and when I sold it in 2007 it sold for £150. It continues to be highly sought after. One surfaced on ebay a couple of months ago but it had been badly trimmed with ragged edges to fit an album, and it still sold for about £30.
I have tried writing to Saul via every recognised way on and off over the years. Each year I try a batch of people I have never managed to get a reply from. This year, I found a bit more info about where he was, and finally got lucky with my latest begging letter.
I am now the owner of a pristine signed EE card by Saul, and a note on my record card. The one I sold for £150 5 years ago was not as nice as this. Over the moon with this. Sorry to go on, but this is a biggie for a collector of signed EE cards, and I am a tad excited about it.

great result for you Nigel. I don't remember the charactor (didn't start watching it until about 96) and certainly haven't seen the card before.
How close are you now to getting back to where you collection previoulsy was?

I'm afraid I fall into the "who is he category" but I am really glad you fgot him again. You have to be an autograph collector to appreciate the excitement that you have experienced. I know exactly what it is like. Well done.

I haven't a clue who he is either but, it's the lesser known names which become more collectible. Your excitement really comes across, Nigel and I'm chuffed you finally got him back in your collection.

Pleased you've managed to get one of the rarer EE replies again. I've been watching EE since it started (always liked Dirty Den) but I don't remember Saul.
