On the 17th August 2013 Darren Barker fought in Atlantic City against the current then IBF World Champion Daniel Geale. Despite being knocked down by Geale in the sixth round, Darren battled back into the fight to win his first honours at world level taking a split decision victory.
This was a very hard fought fight, in which Darren Barker showed true fighting sprit to take the IBF World title away from the Champion. Darren soaked up show heavy hits from Geale, as well as landing some heavy hits himself.
The first photo was taken seconds before the bell went at the end of the 12th round, which was the end of the fight with Darren signaling at the time that he felt he was the winner, which of course he was after the score cards were added up.
The second photo just shows what he went through (look at those eyes) to win that fight, and the heavy blows he took.
