Some recent purchases

Am taking an hour or two of me time today. Have not been very active in the hobby due to work and family recently.

A few recent purchases starting with a couple of signed EE cards. The Sean Magure cost me £17.98, but I did not mind that as when I sold the collection in 2007, I sold my original one of these for over £100. I also picked up Jo Joyner's recent name variant as Tanya Cross. I have written to Jo a few times before, so figured a low cost purchase would be fine instead of bothering her again. These bring me up to 508 different signed cards.

I had seen some discussion online about John Boyers, the former chaplain at Watford and now Man Utd chaplain, and heard his book was good, so had a look on eBay for one to read. I picked up a signed paperback for 99p and am enjoying reading it right now. I remember him during his time at Watford. He was a very popular figure at the club.

Well done with the book, Nigel. Bonus to get a signed copy. It's hard to believe you sold a Sean McGuire card for so much and then to pick up another for such a low price is good going.

Enjoy your "me time". We all need it once in awhile.

some great pick ups there Nigel think I may have to do what you've done and find a cheap Jo Joyner still need that version of the card having tried twice without luck..im the sure the Watford book will be a great read too well done with those

#2 - Suzanne, you have to remember how lucky I was with timing when I sold the original collection to fund our house move. Autumn 2007 saw peak prices in EE sales and many other areas of autographs before the economy crashed in 2008. It will be many, many years before prices like those are realised again on a regular basis. The market today is nothing like that.

Three fantastic buys Nigel . Your right about the prices of autographs I don't think we'll see such high prices again

Great purchases Nigel,I haven't got around to spending those amounts yet-about £4 has been my maximum so far.I know from my football collection,it's always good to fill in those gaps.
