We often call the mail "snail mail", but sometimes the people we write to are slower than a snail.
I wrote to Steve McFadden twice via panto. The first time was 01 Jan 2005, and the second time was 02 Jan this year. Both came back in my more recent reply envelope today. The 2005 request was an old EE card I had since purchased. This was signed. My recent request was a Doctor who pic which was not signed. I feel another panto request coming on this winter. It's behind you! It is now!
At 3207 days (8 years 9 months 12 days), this is officially my oldest reply to come back. I know of people who have waited longer.

thats some wait, bet you couldn't believe it when you opened it. Nice to see an actual signature from him rather than a stamp

Woah! Well, it gives all of us with outstanding replies some hope. Good luck if you send to him again, Nigel. Hopefully we won't have to wait until 2022 to see it!

Every time I see a reply like this it reminds me of Matt from Matt's Celebrity Hangout which was one of the first main autograph forums on the web. He had a reply from Brian Cant after 12 years. Brian was moving house or office and found the request behind a cabinet.
