SAEs

Hi, I am a newby to this hobby - I was thinking that I should always enclose an SAE when writing to celebrities. However, I am now wondering, as there is expense involved. Many celebrities use agencies to deal with autograph requests, and would probably frank mail in bulk, and an SAE would be a wasted stamp. What do people think?

Always use a stamp - never expect something for nothing. Many agencies/celebs will throw away requests with no reply postage.

most agencies dont frank mail in bulk at all, your chances of a reply will decrease by at least 70% I would say as tonnes of celebs wont sign unless you pay postage which is fair enough cant expect something for nothing, and I dont see it as a waste of money anyway its politeness best to always include postage and that way you get a bigger chance of a reply..if they have paid for postage after you have sent a stamped envelope then fair enough thats their choice but best bet for successes it to always include one 🙂
