A very sad loss, I grow up in the same area as Dean and played football with him as a kid. He was always a stand out player even in thoses days and I have very fond memories of watching him play for Bradford City in the early 90's.
He remains to this day one of the most expensive English players never to win a senior international cap. I could never understand why England never called him up, he was certainly good enough and very talented.
