Yes, I made it to the memorabilia show this morning. I completely misunderstood the opening times and was there at a quarter to nine expecting the signings to begin at 9.30, WRONG! Opening time was 10.00 signinings to start at 10.30. If that wasn't bad enough the bloke in front of me was about 30, had a belly as big as mine and was wearing a lycra Star Trek costume that had a two inch gap between the bottom of his shirt and the top of his trousers due to his gut. I don't know why, it must have been disbelief, but as much as I tried to look at anything other than Lycra man in front of me my eyes kept wandering back to him. Then it got worse, his bloody flies were wide open. As the crowds queing got bigger the louder the plea in my head got "PLEASE DON'T LET ANYONE THINK I AM WITH HIM" 😄
Anyway, with great relief they let us in at 10.00 and the signings begun at 10.30. Typically for the 68 team in attendence were all sat down except Pat Crerand. Tony Dunne, John Fitzpatrick, Jimmy Rimmer (with a very shakey hand) David Saddler and Alex Stepney signed my autograph book...

They were all absolute gents in particular David Saddler who was keen to see the other United players in the book and was pleasently suprised to find out the other John Aston autograph was in fact John Aston Snr.
By the time they had finished Pat was back and after being shown the difference between silver and black markers by Alex Stepney and releasing a couple of expletives he signed my Northampton book on the page for ex managers and coaches such as Tony Marchi, Bill Dodgin,Kevin Wilson, Colin Calderwood and Stuart Gray.

I am so pleased to finally get Pat's signature in the book. I was going to do a Knock knock on a former Cobbler, Mike Deakin, who lives about ten miles away but as I wasn't 100% sure it was his address I called ahead but he was going out and asked me to call round on another day with a bit of notice. Oh well, at least it is another definate address.
Sorry to have waffled on, it is sunday though and there isn't a lot going on. 😉

Thanks all. 😄 for the Trekkie quips.
#7 There was some great stuff on the few football stalls that were there Alan.
#10 The seven Utd signatures cost me £52.75. I was going to pay £15 for Pat Crerand anyway so to get the rest for just over £6 each was an absolute bargain. Very pleased.
