Monday's Doctor Who pics

Did anyone watch the Doctor Who announcement on Sunday? That was bizarre, lame and cringeworthy all at the same time. 

I have no problem with the chap announced as the Doctor, great actor, and he will bring his own brand to the concept. He might possibly be too old old for the core group of younger viewers - time will tell. I say that as the relaunch since 2005 has been aimed primarily at a younger audience. Maybe the feeling is that many have grwon with the show and will now appreciate an older Doctor. As long as the same quality writing is in place it should be good.

The anouncement show was bad. All the waffle about only ten people knowing the secret, yet it was common knowledge for a long time he was absolute favourite, and even with the bookies. I think more than ten people knew.  Also, they only managed to drag out a less than enthusiatic Peter Davison, and Bernard Cribbins,plus people I have never seen in my life, with some video links to a small number of others, and worst of all - presented by Zoe Ball! It was like a dumbed down lottery show - yes, that bad! A true missed opportunity.

Enough of that, three more Doctor Who charity purchases - another Reg Whitehead, another Peter Miles, and Jimmy Vee.

Nice purchases Nigel. I didn't see the show, but read about the new doctor. I think the same - if the writing is good, DW should continue to be a success.

Cracking charity purchases Nigel like the bottom photo ,im not a huge fan of the new Dr Who series but did like the old one .Did not see at the weekend so cannot comment.

I didn't watch the programme and I really didn't see the point of it.  More BBC schedule filling.
