Went to the Melbourne Heart family day this Sunday with the wife and family (in-laws, nieces and nephews). We had a great day and the weather was superb. Most players were up for a chat and more than happy to sign items. Harry Kewell is playing for Heart this year - he didn't seem that happy to be there, but signed for almost an hour (he was the only player to have a security guard). Found out later that it was his birthday, so that might explain why he looked like he wanted to be somewhere else. I went around with my nephew getting the team to sign last seasons shirt. A good squad this season, hopefully they will do well. A few new players (other than Kewell) - Michael Mifsud (Maltese international, scored a double against Man U in 2007 while playing for Coventry), Patrick Kisnorbo (Australia international, Ex Hearts, Leicester and Leeds), Rob Wielaert (ex PSV, Ajax) and Orlando Engelaar (Netherlands international, ex Schalke and PSV - although he broke his leg in his first 30 mins playing a friendly, so out for 6 months). Looking forward to the first game of the season - derby against Melbourne Victory (Kewell played for them in 2011-12, so it should add some extra spice to the game)
Also got Manager John Aloisi to sign my 2005 Australia V Uruguay shirt (he scored the winning penalty that took the Socceroos to the 2006 World Cup - voted by the Sport Australia Hall of Fame as one of the greatest moments in Australian sporting history).

A very productive days collecting. The multi sig shirt is a great piece and I really like the Australian shirt with the solitary sig.

What a wonderful day out for you all Rob, really pleased for you all. Fabulous signed shirts as well. Fair play to Harry turning up on his birthday even if he was a tad grumpy about it. Brilliant.
