London IPs

I don't know if this post is going to work but I thought I would give it a go. Went down to London for a sunny weekend. Ended up going to the London Film and Comic Con on the Friday night and a for a bit on Saturday morning. It was very easy to get around, especially on Friday - not queues at all, just went up to the tables and got autographs from the guests almost straight away. Peter Mayhew refused to sign one of my Muppet Show cards - something to do with it being easily copied - so I got a photo instead. To be honest he did not look that happy to be there. Kenny Baker was sat next to him and was more than happy to sign a Labyrinth card. Always had a big smile on his face. I also got a V for Vendetta book signed by David Lloyd, a Muppet Show cartoon sketch from writer/artist Roger Langridge and a signed photo and poster from Gary Kurt. I will try and post pics if I can.

We are studying V for Vendetta in one of my classes so I got a signed David Lloyd sketch in a book for my self and a signed sketch for a student prize at the end of the year (that explains the 'good luck in your exams')

Roger Langridge wrote and illustrated a Muppet Show comic a few years ago - amazing how quickly he can draw

Last was producer Gary Kurtz on Saturday. He was not an advertised guest so was surprised to see him - when I asked he said he had came to talk to the organiser and they had asked him to stay for the day. He signed a Dark Crystal photo, and after I found a poster at one of the stalls, he signed that too.

some nice pieces Rob, love that behind the scenes Dark Crystal photo.  A shame Mayhew wouldn't sign you Muppets card, from what I have heard he won't sign index cards full stop now

Fantastic Rob - especially the sketches and art. I went to one of these shows at the Excel in 2012, and really enjoyed it. It is fun seeing the many different artistic styles, and I enjoyed seeing the youngsters dressed up as their favourite cosplay characters. A lot of creative energy on display.

Great IP's.  Would love to go to one of the conventions when I could fit it in.

What a great set of sigs, Rob. Love the Roger Langridge pic. I like your thinking with the David Lloyd sketch as a prize. Well worth working hard for.

Brilliant Rob. I enjoyed my visit in May 2012, and when I next have time and money for one of these comic cons will definitely go again. Glad you had a great time.
